But that&#8217;s not\u200c all\u2014the law also grants them the power to \u200btake legal action against employers who fail to comply with \u2064the new wage requirements.<br \/>\n \u2062\n    <\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202320240SB525\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Senate Bill (SB) \u2062525<\/a>, introduced by Sen. He commended the Legislature for making this significant change and praised Governor Newsom for his bold\u200b leadership in signing it into law. This raise will not\u200c only benefit the workers but also inject more money into local economies, creating a positive impact for everyone.<br \/>\n  \u200b\n    <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>    \u200c   \u200c\u2064 The new law establishes the first statewide minimum wage for health care workers\u200d in the United States. It applies to \u200dworkers in hospitals or health care \u2063facilities \u200bwith over 10,000\u2062 full-time employees, \u2064integrated health care systems, county health care systems with\u200b 10,000 \u200bor more full-time employees, or counties \u200bwith a population exceeding 5 million.\n  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Starting \u200bJune 1, 2024, the minimum\u2063 wage for these employees will\u200b be $23 an \u2062hour.<\/li>\n<li>On June 1, 2025, \u200bit will increase to $24 an hour.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, on June 1, 2026, it will reach\u200c the impressive \u200d$25 an hour mark.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>    \u200b \u2063 However,\u200b there \u200dare different\u2064 wage scales \u200bfor certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-homeland-security-department-illegal-immigrants-should-get-vaccine\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Homeland Security Department: Illegal Immigrants Should Get Vaccine\">health care facilities<\/a>. For \u200dexample, hospitals supported by governmental funds, rural health care facilities, and county facilities in smaller areas will have a lower minimum wage of\u2062 $18 an \u200dhour starting June 1, 2024. This will gradually increase by 3.5 percent each year until it reaches $25 an hour on June\u2064 1, 2033.<br \/>\n\u200b\n  <\/p>\n<p>    Primary care clinics, community clinics, rural health\u2063 clinics, and urgent clinics will see their minimum wage rise to $21 \u2062per hour on June 1, 2024. It will then increase\u2064 to $22 an hour on June 1, 2026, and finally reach \u200d$25 \u2064per \u2064hour on June 1, 2027.<br \/>\n \u2063\n  <\/p>\n<p>    For all other \u200chealth care facility employers covered by the law, the minimum\u2064 wage \u200cwill increase to $21 per hour on June 1, 2024.
