Previously, 55 Republicans had vowed to vote against him, but Jordan managed to reduce that number.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Jordan expressed his determination to get a\u2062 speaker elected, emphasizing the \u200cimportance \u200dof a functioning \u2064House \u200cof Representatives for the American \u200bpeople.
