The fine was not $100 or even $1,000, but a\u200b staggering 1.4\u200d million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Curious \u2064about the amount, \u200dCato \u200bcalled the phone number on the ticket to inquire if it was \u2063a mistake. \u200cTo\u2064 his surprise, he was \u2064told that the amount was indeed correct. He was given two\u200c options:\u200d pay\u200c the fine \u200cor appear in court on\u200d Dec. \u200b21 \u2064at 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The exorbitant fine left criminal defense attorney Sneh Patel baffled.
