And when half of our audience is \u2064suddenly wiped out, it feels \u2062like \u2062we&#8217;ve been silenced. Like our voices don&#8217;t matter.<\/p>\n<p><em>But we refuse to \u200dbe\u200d silenced. We refuse to let these tech giants control\u2064 the narrative and \u200cdetermine what information the public \u2064has access to. Because \u200cthe truth is, the media landscape has changed. It used \u200dto be that news organizations\u2062 could rely on print and television to get their stories\u2062 out.\u200d But now, the \u2062power lies\u200b in \u2063the\u200c hands of a few \u2063Silicon Valley executives who can decide\u2062 to throttle our\u2063 reach and control \u200cthe flow of information.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s so important for us to\u200b stand up\u2063 for \u2063free speech. It&#8217;s not\u2062 just\u200d about our ability to report the news,\u200b it&#8217;s about the very \u200bfoundations of \u2064our democracy. If we allow these platforms to silence\u200b voices \u200cthat they\u2063 disagree \u200bwith or deem &#8220;controversial,&#8221; we \u2062are setting\u200c a\u2062 dangerous precedent.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In the case of former President Donald\u2063 Trump,\u2064 we may have our\u200d disagreements with his policies and his rhetoric. But he has every right to express his opinions \u200cand engage with the public.
