They screamed and begged Jesus for help. Cameras rolled throughout the ordeal.<\/p>\n<p>Tanner Charles, one of the three \u2064chasers,\u200b posted the video to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bwmM3KMPE3c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> \u200cearlier this\u2063 month, attributing the delay to how \u200dtraumatic\u2064 the situation was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the end, I\u2019m just incredibly grateful that we made it out alive,\u201d Charles\u2062 said in the introduction to the tornado video.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, in a span of\u2063 less than four minutes, Charles and his fellow chasers went \u2063from thinking themselves safe to thanking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/proof-bible-excavation-reveals-steps-jesus-healed-blind-man-2000-years-ago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesus<\/a> for saving them.<\/p>\n<p>For anyone who has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trapped-tornado-chasers-send-a-prayer-to-jesus-emerge-alive-and-with-incredible-video\/\" title=\"Tornado Chasers Trapped, Pray to Jesus, Survive with Epic Video\">watched storm-chasing videos<\/a>, this one will look familiar \u200din many ways.<\/p>\n<p>It opened with the three chasers\u200b in a car driving\u200b toward the expected storm.<\/p>\n<p>They looked and sounded confident. In the passenger seat, one chaser had a laptop open to four\u200c different images of live weather maps. In the backseat, \u200ba storm chaser named Riley predicted that they would be\u200d fine. They \u2064knew what they were doing.<\/p>\n<p>This, of course, gave the illusion of control.<\/p>\n<p>The skies darkened. Rain and wind intensified, but they knew where to find the storm and, most importantly, how to\u2064 escape it.<\/p>\n<p>Less than a\u2062 minute later, they spotted the\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/north-carolina-tornado-destroys-pfizer-building-taking-along-50000-pallets-medicine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tornado<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWooooooo!\u201d one chaser yelled, no doubt excited that they had a chance to \u2064capture excellent footage.<\/p>\n<p>But then they began to sense danger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTanner, be cognizant. It\u2019s coming \u200btowards us!\u201d someone yelled at Charles, the\u2062 driver.<\/p>\n<p>The chasers then moved to a safer location, they \u200cthought. They \u2062estimated the storm was still a mile away.<\/p>\n<p>But the storm grew closer and \u200cwider \u2014 and the chasers did not have their\u2062 escape planned as well as they thought. Charles \u200bbegan asking about where to turn. Everything intensified.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the four-minute journey from overconfidence to terror and finally to gratitude began.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re actually fine. It\u2019s gonna go straight. It\u2019s gonna go south of us,\u201d Charles said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese winds \u2064don\u2019t make \u200bit seem like it\u2019s OK\u2064 right now,\u201d Riley said.<\/p>\n<p>Seconds later, a power pole nearly fell on the car. In another few seconds, a flash of light signaled another collapsing pole.<\/p>\n<p>Then came the first prayer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLord Jesus, please protect us in the \u200dname of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bear-grylls-celebrates-baptism-jordan-river-offers-important-survival-tip-stay-close-jesus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesus<\/a>,\u201d one chaser said.<\/p>\n<p>Two more flashes followed, and in a few seconds, \u2063they realized that downed power \u200dlines blocked the road ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re stuck. We\u2019re stuck,\u201d one of them\u200b said.<\/p>\n<p>Then\u2063 began a frantic search for the tornado. It was bearing down on them\u2063 from behind. They could not drive, and they had\u200b only a\u200b few seconds to make\u200c a decision. With nowhere to go, they rolled up the car windows and prayed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/icymi-mlb-player-shows-batting-practice-jesus-won-shirt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesus<\/a>, for protecting us in the name \u200cof Jesus,\u201d\u200d one chaser prayed only moments before impact.\u00a0\u201cAnd I thank you that\u2064 you\u2019re gonna protect us\u2063 right now in the name of Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease, dear Lord. We are in it,\u201d another\u2063 chaser said.<\/p>\n<p>Moments later, the roar began.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLord! Please!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Violent wind blasted\u200c the car. All three chasers put their heads down. Some of what they said became inaudible.<\/p>\n<p>One cry, however, could be heard amid the roar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease, Lord!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/face-jesus-applied-shroud-turin-generates-life-like-image\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesus!<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Again and again, for more than a minute \u2062of sheer terror, they begged the Lord for help.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, they sensed that the worst\u200d had \u200bpassed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s done. Please, Lord, let it be \u200ddone. Please, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/large-church-group-israel-war-broke-arrives-back-us-god-took-care-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">God<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They made it through alive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus,\u201d Charles wept.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The storm appeared to do serious damage to the vehicle, \u2063crushing the roof and blowing out the windows.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/ilx\/april42023_severe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Weather Service<\/a> confirmed a \u201clong-track EF-3 with peak winds estimated near 160 mph near Lewistown\u201d on April 4.<\/p>\n<p>As a notable \u200dcoincidence, that date also marked the 49th anniversary of the April 3-4, 1974, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/iln\/19740403\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Super Outbreak<\/a>, the most violent tornado outbreak in recorded\u200b U.S. \u2062history. Those tornadoes killed 335 people and injured more than 6,000 others.<\/p>\n<p>The three chasers in the above video, however, thought neither of peak winds nor of coincidences. In \u200bthat vehicle, with their lives in \u200cdanger, they thought only of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/refreshing-twist-hollywood-puts-jesus-center-christmas-film\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, they cried to him.\u200d Again \u2062and again, they begged\u2064 for his help.<\/p>\n<p>Their prayers strike us all the more forcefully for the illusion of control that preceded them.<\/p>\n<p>After all, these chasers knew how to chase. The car \u200bshook violently,\u2063 debris flying in all directions.\u2062 Fear overwhelmed\u200c them, \u200dbut in the midst of it all, they continued\u2064 to pray.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLord, please protect\u2064 us. Guide us through this storm,\u201d they pleaded.<\/p>\n<p>Miraculously, the\u2062 tornado passed over them. The\u200d car was battered \u2064and damaged, but they were alive.\u200c Tears of \u2062relief streamed down their faces as \u200dthey recounted their terrifying\u200d experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2063 prayed to Jesus, and He heard our prayers. He saved us,\u201d one of the \u2062chasers said.<\/p>\n<p>Their video footage, captured during their darkest hour, \u2063shows the power and mercy \u2062of Jesus. \u2064It serves as a testament to the unwavering faith \u2062and hope that \u2062Christians have \u2063in times\u2064 of desperation.<\/p>\n<p>For these storm chasers, their \u2063encounter \u2063with the tornado was a stark reminder of their own vulnerability and \u200cthe fragility of life.
