In other words, they aim to\u2064 register demographics\u200d more \u200blikely to \u2062vote for Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u200c good-government groups such as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/09\/report-democrats-are-weaponizing-nonprofits-to-run-partisan-voter-registration-drives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Restoration of America<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/16\/meet-the-tax-exempt-charity-secretly-bankrolling-democrats-get-out-the-vote-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Capital Research Center<\/a>,\u200b Democrats\u2019 use of nonprofit voter registration\u200d is \u200bestimated to have netted them potentially millions \u200cof additional votes \u2062across key battleground\u200c states \u200bin \u2063recent\u2062 elections.\u200d And given the outcome of the \u20622022 midterms, \u200bit \u2063appears this strategy is working.<\/p>\n<p>Despite spending <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/news\/2023\/02\/midterms-spending-spree-cost-of-2022-federal-elections-tops-8-9-billion-a-new-midterm-record\/#:~:text=Lobbying%20Overview-,%E2%80%9CMidterm%20spending%20spree%E2%80%9D%3A%20Cost%20of%202022%20federal%20elections%20tops,billion%2C%20a%20new%20midterm%20record\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$4.2\u200b billion<\/a> throughout the 2022 cycle, the GOP barely\u2063 managed to secure\u2064 a House majority and lost the Senate (again). While\u200b leftist billionaires <a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/app\/uploads\/CRC-Voter-Registration-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">poured<\/a> money into\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/eyeing-supreme-court-vacancy-left-wing-dark-money-group-pushes-ketanji-brown-jackson-for-top-appeals-court\/\" title=\"Eyeing Supreme Court Vacancy, Left-Wing Dark Money Group Pushes Ketanji Brown Jackson for Top Appeals Court\">left-wing nonprofits<\/a> to register new voters, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visualcapitalist.com\/biggest-donors-2022-midterm-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GOP\u200b mega-donors<\/a> gave tens of \u200cmillions of dollars to\u200c Republican candidates, PACs, and other aligned entities,\u200c which spent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/news\/2022\/11\/how-republicans-and-democrats-spent-their-money-during-2022-midterm-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">significant portion<\/a> of these funds on fundraising \u200cefforts and \u200dconsultants.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a rough data set provided to The Federalist by Restoration of America, an election-integrity advocacy group, shows \u200dthat dozens of\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-cant-afford-to-surrender-the-nonprofit-voter-registration-game-to-democrats\/\" title=\"Republicans must not concede the nonprofit voter registration arena to Democrats.\">left-wing nonprofits\u200d collectively spent hundreds<\/a> \u200dof millions of dollars during the 2020 cycle on\u200d voter registration \u200dand additional expenditures, \u200cwith about 150 nonprofits collectively spending over $1 billion during \u2063the \u20642021 cycle.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-df5326948a7b24af6ed7609b1e4c381e fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-df5326948a7b24af6ed7609b1e4c381e\"><\/div>\n<p>Imagine \u2063the outcome of \u2063the 2022 midterms\u2064 if major GOP donors had \u201cspent a fraction of [their] money on 501c(3) [and] 501c(4)\u200c voter registration,\u201d a Restoration of\u200b America \u200crepresentative told The Federalist.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">National GOP Voter Registration<\/h2>\n<p>In previous years, traditional GOP\u2062 voter outreach has typically involved coordination among the Republican \u200dNational Committee\u2063 (RNC), state \u2063and local parties, and candidates. While\u200d not a nonprofit,\u200c the \u2064RNC has maintained a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-voters-believe-joe-biden-responsible-for-making-inflation-worse\/\" title=\"Poll: Voters Believe Joe Biden Responsible for Making Inflation Worse\">national voter file<\/a> and provided these GOP entities with data to reach\u200c new \u2064voters.<\/p>\n<p>According to \u200dan informational press release\u200b provided \u2062to \u2063The \u200dFederalist, the RNC strategy focuses on\u2062 a \u201cdata-driven ground \u2064game\u201d\u2062 that seeks to recruit new voters through registration efforts \u2062and minority outreach. These get-out-the-vote efforts \u2064include door-knocking, \u2062making phone calls, and\u200c volunteer recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of this year, \u2064the RNC \u200cis slated to hire political staff \u200bin 15 battleground\u200b states, including those pivotal to acquiring GOP Senate and \u2064House majorities. The \u200borganization has \u2063also opened various community centers in <a href=\"https:\/\/longisland.news12.com\/rnc-hispanic-community-center-opens-in-cortlandt-manor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York<\/a> and\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocregister.com\/2023\/08\/21\/republicans-open-a-community-center-in-little-saigon-ahead-of-2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">California<\/a> within the \u2062past year \u200bto\u2064 boost its outreach efforts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a99e58f30cadfc534b57679bcbab7ee2 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a99e58f30cadfc534b57679bcbab7ee2\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWith a focus\u2062 on\u2064 not just presidential, but House and Senate battlegrounds, \u2063our Political and Election Integrity hires are laying the groundwork to ensure we have aggressive voter \u200dcontact and litigation strategies in place to\u200d win elections and hold Democrats accountable for bad laws\u200c that make voting less secure,\u201d\u2063 RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>In light\u200c of Republicans\u2019 recent \u2063election shortcomings, however, some conservatives have\u200b voiced their displeasure with how national Republicans have handled recruiting new\u2064 voters. While speaking\u2063 with\u200c The\u2063 Federalist, Chad Connelly, the former\u2063 chair of the South Carolina GOP, said personnel turnover and the \u200d\u201crevolving\u200b door\u201d of \u200cpeople encompassing national\u200d GOP politics make it difficult for groups like the RNC to maintain a uniform understanding of the issue,\u200b particularly when\u200c it comes\u2063 to evangelical voters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very\u200b frustrating because there\u2019s \u2026 little institutional knowledge \u200dbetween [election] cycles, \u200dand they\u2019ve\u200d got to go back and relearn and repay for \u2064the same lessons again,\u201d said \u200cConnelly, who\u2062 previously\u2063 served as\u2064 the RNC\u2019s national director of faith \u200cengagement. \u201cLet\u2019s go find people who really are already good at \u200b [voter registration and outreach] \u200band stop reinventing\u2062 the wheel \u2063and\u200d recreating it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the months after\u2064 the 2022 midterms, the RNC launched \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/gop.com\/press-release\/rnc-launches-bank-your-vote-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bank Your Vote<\/a>,\u201d a nationwide initiative aimed at mobilizing voters and maximizing early voting \u2064ahead of Election\u200d Day. According to\u2063 an RNC press release, the campaign involves collaboration \u2064between\u200c the organization\u2019s data and digital\u2063 media divisions to \u201ctarget \u200bvoters who are \u2062most\u200d likely to vote before \u200dElection \u200bDay.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can Christian Nonprofits Save the Day?<\/h2>\n<p>While nonprofits and political parties aren\u2019t\u2063 legally\u200d permitted to collaborate on voter registration, there are a \u200cfew Republican-friendly 501c(3) groups looking to\u2062 beat \u200cDemocrats at their own game. Among these groups is <a href=\"https:\/\/faithwins.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Faith Wins<\/a>, a nonprofit Connelly founded that <a href=\"https:\/\/faithwins.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">helps<\/a> faith leaders and evangelical\u2063 Christians \u201cleverage their\u200c influence and impact within \u200bthe governmental and political arena.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Connelly, Faith Wins\u200d has held gatherings with eight different 2024 presidential candidates across four early primary states this\u200b year, which the\u200c organization used\u2063 to educate attending pastors on how to\u2063 \u201cregister everybody\u2064 to vote\u201d and encourage people to vote for biblical values. Founded in 2017, the group has \u2064also been heavily \u200cactive in registering\u2062 new\u2062 Christian voters in recent election years, most \u2064notably 2021, when its members registered approximately\u200c 77,000 Christians\u200d \u201cwho had never [previously] voted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat works is\u2064 voter \u2064registration. [Any] political scientist \u200bwill tell you there\u2019s\u2063 a \u200ddirect correlation\u201d between \u2063registering \u200dnew\u2062 voters and higher voter turnout, Connelly said. \u201cSo, we are laser beam focused on maximizing [the] \u200c Christian vote and voice at every level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Engaged in similar efforts is\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/catholicvote.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CatholicVote<\/a>, an advocacy\u2062 organization that amplifies Catholic\u2062 voices and encourages them <a href=\"https:\/\/catholicvote.org\/mission-learn-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">to<\/a> \u2062\u201clive out the truths of [the Catholic] faith in public life.\u201d\u2062 CatholicVote Political \u200bDirector Logan Church told The Federalist how the group pushes Catholics \u2062to \u201cget involved in the \u2062political\u200c realm because \u2026 the\u200c fastest way to change a culture is through\u2062 politics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough our Catholic Captain\u2019s program \u2026 we help\u2062 identify and train Catholic captains in parishes across the U.S.,\u201d Church said. \u201cWe train them [to work] with their\u2063 pastors and fellow parishioners to activate\u2063 their parish, whether that\u2019s [by] registering to vote or\u2062 making sure \u200ctheir parish\u200b is\u200b getting out to vote when the time \u2062comes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CatholicVote\u2019s strategy isn\u2019t a\u2062 one-size-fits-all approach, however. According to\u200c Church,\u2063 the group \u2062focuses its voter registration efforts on states and communities with sizable Catholic populations. So, while a state like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/religion\/religious-landscape-study\/state\/georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Georgia<\/a> may \u200bbe important in winning presidential elections, it \u200bdoesn\u2019t boast as large a\u200c Catholic population\u2064 as other battlegrounds \u2063where CatholicVote\u2019s \u2063resources\u2063 could \u200bbe better spent,\u2063 such\u200c as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/religion\/religious-landscape-study\/state\/ohio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ohio<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/religion\/religious-landscape-study\/state\/florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Florida<\/a>, and\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/religion\/religious-landscape-study\/state\/pennsylvania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pennsylvania<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The organization also practices a\u200c \u201cbottom-up mentality\u201d \u200dthat focuses on activating\u2064 Catholics at\u200d the\u200c local level, \u2062with \u2063the hope that these individuals\u200c continue their activism into state and federal politics, Church said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why \u2062It Matters<\/h2>\n<p>Combined with President \u2063Joe \u2064Biden\u2019s executive order <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/23\/yes-biden-is-hiding-his-plan-to-rig-the-2022-midterm-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mandating<\/a> that\u200b all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-admin-requires-trans-women-to-register-for-draft\/\" title=\"Biden Admin Requires \"Trans Women\" to Register for Draft\">federal agencies find ways<\/a> \u2063to register new (and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/08\/report-biden-is-coordinating-with-aclu-other-left-wing-groups-to-interfere-in-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">likely-Democrat<\/a>) voters, the left\u2019s embrace\u200b of \u200bnonprofit voter \u2062registration should give Republicans\u200b cause for concern. Democrats have <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/10\/05\/10-ways-democrats-are-already-rigging-the-2024-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">regularly shown<\/a> they have no intention \u200bof\u200b playing fair when it comes\u2062 to elections, and\u2062 registering new voters is no\u2064 different.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of having their money wasted \u2063by PACs on inefficient consultants, \u200cGOP donors should take a\u200c page from Democrats\u2019 playbook and invest in nonprofits\u200c that \u2064engage and\u200b register likely-Republican\u2064 voters. As \u2064Democrat groups \u200blike Mind the Gap have <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/09\/report-democrats-are-weaponizing-nonprofits-to-run-partisan-voter-registration-drives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a>, it\u2019s\u200b a cost-effective strategy that boosts voter turnout \u2064and secures necessary\u200c electoral wins.<\/p>\n<p>The GOP\u2019s electoral survival depends on \u200dits ability to adapt\u2063 to the changing election landscape. With the goal of registering and engaging with 1\u2063 million new voters, here are three PAAs\u200d related questions for the strategy \u200bof the S party:<\/h2>\n<p><span>  S, with the \u200cgoal of \u200bregistering and engaging \u2063with \u200c1 million new voters.\u200c This strategy \u2064aims \u200cto expand the \u200dparty&#8217;s base and increase voter turnout\u2062 among traditionally underrepresented groups.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-894ecfontattribute fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10-long\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-745613971\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-1\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-0ce23db289e3a915804f2abf705c3846 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10-long\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-0ce23db289e3a915804f2abf705c3846\"><\/div>\n<p>The\u200c RNC&#8217;s approach to voter registration is clearly distinct from the\u200d manipulation tactics\u2062 employed by Democrats.\u2064 Rather than \u2063targeting \u200cspecific \u200bdemographics likely to\u2063 vote for \u2064their party, the RNC focuses \u200con expanding \u200bthe overall\u200d pool of Republican\u2063 supporters.
