However, a dose\u2063 of\u2063 one of the updated bivalent vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna raised the protection to 29 \u2063percent, only to\u2063 fall\u2064 back \u200cto negative 8 percent after approximately three months.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Other studies \u2063have also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/another-study-finds-covid-19-vaccine-effectiveness-turns-negative-within-months_4816368.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">indicated<\/a> that \u2063protection against infection\u2064 diminishes\u2063 over\u2063 time. Some datasets have even suggested that vaccinated individuals are at a higher \u200brisk of hospitalization, which \u200bis considered\u2063 a severe outcome of COVID-19 infection.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Calls for New Vaccines<\/h2>\n<p>In response\u2064 to the declining effectiveness of vaccines, U.S. health officials have\u200c emphasized the need for new vaccine formulations.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In June\u2062 2023, Food and\u2064 Drug\u2063 Administration (FDA) \u200bofficials stated,\u200c &#8220;There appears to be an inverse relationship\u2063 between the time since \u200cvaccination \u200band vaccine effectiveness, \u200bsuch that bivalent \u200cCOVID-19 vaccine effectiveness against\u2064 Omicron sublineages appears to wane over\u200b time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Existing vaccines were already updated in late 2022 to target existing virus variants, with the hope of\u2063 providing better protection than the previous formulations. However, data from the United States and other countries has shown that the \u200cupdated shots offer subpar protection\u200c against infection and \u2063short-lived shielding \u2063against hospitalization.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA and other regulators are \u200dnow moving towards a COVID-19\u2062 vaccination \u200bmodel similar to that \u2063of flu vaccines, which involves regularly updated \u200cformulations\u200b to\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-administration-doles-out-another-500-million-for-next-generation-covid-19-vaccines\/\" title=\"Biden admin grants 0M for 'Next Gen' COVID-19 vaccines.\">target newly\u200c emergent viral mutations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The latest batch of COVID-19 boosters from \u200dPfizer\u200d and Moderna, designed \u200cto \u200btarget a newer strain of\u200b the virus, were approved \u200dby the FDA on Sept. 11. However, this decision drew criticism\u200b due to limited clinical trial\u200c data.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In\u2063 a\u2063 statement announcing its approval, the FDA claimed that the decision was \u200dsupported by\u200d manufacturing data from vaccine \u2063producers and non-clinical immune response data on \u200bthe updated formulations. The FDA stated that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brooklyn-nets-kyrie-irving-enforced-vaccine-pandemic-is-one-of-the-biggest-violations-of-human-rights-in-history\/\" title=\"Brooklyn Nets\u2019 Kyrie Irving: \u201cEnforced Vaccine\/Pandemic Is One of the Biggest Violations of Human Rights in History\u201d\">risk-benefit profile<\/a> \u2063of earlier \u200cversions of the vaccines is well understood and that the similar manufacturing process for the updated vaccines suggests they are a good \u200cmatch \u200dfor protecting against \u200cthe currently circulating COVID-19 variants.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) subsequently recommended that nearly all \u200bAmericans receive the new vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>However, virologist Dr. Robert Malone\u2062 criticized the FDA for disregarding its own rules \u2062and regulations by recommending \u2062the \u200dupdated vaccines, as there is limited clinical\u200d trial data regarding\u200c their efficacy and \u2062safety.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s difficult to conclude anything other than the FDA \u200bis no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fda-has-gone-rogue-by-approving-covid-19-boosters-without-clinical-trials-dr-robert-malone\/\" title=\"FDA Approves COVID-19 Boosters Without Trials: Dr. Robert Malone\">longer feeling\u200b bound<\/a> by\u2063 their own rules and regulations,&#8221; Dr. Malone\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/article\/fda-has-gone-rogue-by-approving-covid-19-boosters-without-clinical-trials-dr-robert-malone-5490314\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said in an interview<\/a>. &#8220;The term is\u2014they&#8217;ve gone rogue.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The FDA\u200c did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p><em>Zachary Stieber contributed to this report.<\/em><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2>As the effectiveness of \u2064existing vaccines \u200bdiminishes\u2062 over\u200b time, \u200bit becomes\u2064 crucial to prioritize the production and distribution of updated vaccines.\u200d This not only ensures that individuals receive the best protection\u200c against the evolving \u200cvirus, but also helps control its spread and mitigate the impact on public health.<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<p><span>  \u2063 Hown that the effectiveness of these updated vaccines has also diminished over time.<\/p>\n<p>The emergence of new \u200dvariants, such as the Omicron variant, has further exacerbated\u200b the need for new vaccines.
