The \u200cDOJ&#8217;s latest data, as of\u2062 Oct. 5, reveals that out of the 658 concluded cases, 399 \u200ddefendants (or 60.8 percent) received some form of incarceration, while 108\u2063 defendants were sentenced to home detention.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ emphasized its commitment to swiftly and extensively \u200dinvestigating\u200d and\u2064 prosecuting those \u2062responsible for the attack. \u2064In its 33-month Jan. 6 update, the department stated, &#8220;The Department of \u2062Justice&#8217;s resolve to hold accountable those who committed crimes on January\u200d 6, 2021, has not, and will not, wane.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The \u2063longest prison terms, 18\u2064 and 22 years, were given\u200d to Elmer Stewart Rhodes III, the founder \u2064of Oath Keepers, and Henry\u2062 &#8220;Enrique&#8221; Tarrio, former chairman of Proud\u2063 Boys. Both individuals have appealed their convictions\u2063 for seditious conspiracy and other charges.<\/p>\n<p>Since the incident, the FBI \u200dhas arrested 1,185 people \u200bon Jan. 6 criminal charges.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>The most\u200c recent arrest occurred\u200d on Oct. 4, when Derek Jaccob\u200c Dodder of Las Vegas was \u200dcharged with four misdemeanors, including entering \u2063and \u2063remaining in a restricted building\u200c or grounds, disorderly and disruptive \u200dconduct, disorderly conduct in the Capitol building or grounds, and \u200cparading, demonstrating, or \u2062picketing in a \u200dCapitol building.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Over 35 percent of those \u2062arrested, totaling 410\u200c individuals, were charged with assaulting, \u200bresisting, or impeding officers or \u200bemployees. Among\u200b them, 117 were charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon or causing serious bodily injury to an officer.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, 317 defendants faced charges of corruptly obstructing,\u2064 influencing, or impeding an \u2063official proceeding, which \u200cis \u200ba 20-year felony charge.
