Concerned for his \u2064well-being, they sent him to a program designed to\u2063 help young people in similar situations.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if his parents witnessed \u200dthe &#8220;kidnapping,&#8221; Chet revealed that they were the ones who \u200corchestrated it. &#8220;They were, like, &#8216;Your parents hired us to \u2064take you,'&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Before being sent away, Chet&#8217;s \u2063parents grounded him for\u2062 the rest of high school and warned him that his life\u2064 would change if he didn&#8217;t straighten up. But he didn&#8217;t \u200ctake their warnings seriously until he found himself blindfolded\u200b in the desert, part\u200b of the program he\u2062 was enrolled in.<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, Chet also discussed the impact this\u200d experience \u2062had on his relationship with his parents. \u2063Despite the unconventional circumstances, he emphasized that he is close with them.<\/p>\n<p>Chet mentioned that\u2063 during the early 2000s to 2010, it was not uncommon for troubled teenagers to be sent to camps like \u200cthe one he attended.
