Greene accused Mace of \u200dusing Democratic talking points, commonly used by \u200dBlack Lives \u200bMatter supporters, to label House Majority Leader Steve Scalise as a &#8220;white supremacist.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Greene made it clear that she \u2063would not be voting for Scalise as \u2062the next \u2064speaker of the House. Instead, she threw her support\u200d behind House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan. I like\u200d Steve Scalise, and as I said, I want him to beat cancer, and he should be focused on that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She continued, &#8220;What I do think is an unfair and quite frankly disgusting attack is\u200d members \u2064of our conference using Democrat talking points. Using the same lines of attack that Democrats \u2064use against every single Republican, every single election, every single day, in these halls\u2064 of Congress to \u2062attack Steve. He isn\u2019t a White Supremacist. We all know that. He\u2019s a good man.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Greene&#8217;s thread included \u2062a clip of Mace speaking to CNN, where Mace expressed her \u2062refusal to\u200b support Scalise due to his attendance \u2062at a\u2063 controversial event over\u200d 20 years ago. But when we have a member of our conference using Democrat BLM \u200dlines to attack a guy for Speaker that more than 100 of our own conference supports, you\u2019re now saying half the conference supports\u200b a white \u2063supremacist and\u200d giving Dems ammunition against half our conference. I want a speaker we can all\u200d unite \u200cbehind and one that reflects\u200c what \u2064our Republican voters want.
