George Santos (R-NY) has \u200bbeen \u2063hit with a series of fresh fraud-related charges, as revealed by\u200d the Department of \u200bJustice.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ recently\u2063 unveiled a superseding indictment against Santos, accusing him\u200d of various offenses including Conspiracy, Wire Fraud, False Statements, Falsification of Records, Aggravated Identity Theft,\u200c and\u2063 Credit Card Fraud.<\/p>\n<h3>Foreign and Domestic Crises Shake Biden&#8217;s 2020 Campaign Promise<\/h3>\n<p>The announcement\u2063 of the superseding indictment was \u200bmade by Breon Peace, \u2062United States \u2062Attorney for the Eastern District of New York; \u200dNicole M. Argentieri,\u2064 Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department\u2019s Criminal\u2064 Division; James Smith, Assistant Director-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Field Office (FBI); and Anne \u200cT. Donnelly, Nassau\u200b County District Attorney.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAs \u2062alleged,\u200c Santos \u200bis charged \u200dwith stealing people\u2019s identities and making\u200d charges \u200don his\u200d own donors\u2019 credit cards without their authorization, lying to the FEC and,\u2064 by extension, the public\u2062 about \u2063the financial state of his campaign,&#8221; Peace said. \u2064&#8221;Santos falsely inflated the \u2064campaign\u2019s reported receipts with non-existent loans and contributions \u2063that were either fabricated \u2062or stolen.
