Pat Ryan (D-NY), a prime target for House\u2063 Republicans \u2063aiming to expand \u2063their narrow \u2063majority in the lower chamber in 2024.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A staunch advocate for national Republicans, Esposito \u200cis determined to take on the entrenched Washington political machine.<\/p>\n<h3>Foreign and Domestic Crises Disrupt Biden&#8217;s \u2063Promise of Stability<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We must reclaim our American dream and save\u2063 our\u2063 beloved state and country,&#8221; declared Esposito, a 25-year veteran of the New York Police Department, as \u200dshe announced her campaign on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Esposito previously ran for lieutenant governor alongside \u2063gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin in the 2022 midterm elections. Now, she sets \u2062her sights on\u200d unseating Ryan,\u200d who\u200d has represented New York&#8217;s 18th Congressional \u200bDistrict since 2023. Ryan had previously won a special election to represent New York&#8217;s 19th Congressional District from 2022 to 2023.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;President Biden and his \u200dallies in Congress \u2062have reduced our nation to a mere shadow of its former self,&#8221; stated Esposito in\u200b a news release introducing her congressional \u200bcampaign. \u2062&#8221;Our southern border is practically non-existent, inflation has forced\u200c families to choose between gas and groceries, and\u2063 we have relinquished our standing on the world stage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Esposito continued, &#8220;Currently, the Hudson Valley \u200bis\u200d represented by a defender of President Biden&#8217;s failed policies. Instead of fighting for \u2063hardworking families, our\u2063 representative is fighting \u2063for \u2063his own self-interest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Zeldin,\u2063 who served as the representative for New York&#8217;s\u200c 1st Congressional District from 2015 to 2023, was among the Republicans who voted against certifying the 2020 presidential election. He persistently propagated claims of election interference and fraud, despite their debunking.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan&#8217;s seat was one of many that defied predictions\u200b of a &#8220;red wave&#8221; in the 2022 midterm elections. Nevertheless, the GOP managed to flip several seats in \u2062New \u2062York, contributing to their control of the House.<\/p>\n<p>In March, the National Republican Congressional Committee identified several races as key opportunities\u2062 for pickup. Interestingly, most of these \u200braces were also listed by the Democratic Congressional Campaign\u200b Committee as \u200b&#8221;front-line&#8221; seats vulnerable to Republican takeover.<\/p>\n<p>As Democrats head into 2024, they not only need to defend Ryan&#8217;s seat but also reclaim the seats lost to Republicans in the\u2063 previous cycle. To that end, the House Majority PAC, the primary Democratic super PAC in House\u200c campaigns, has invested $45\u200c million in New York and established a war room in April.<\/p>\n<p>Esposito had\u200b been contemplating a \u200ccampaign for Ryan&#8217;s seat since May.
