These \u200cwitches are named after the Greek fates and possess a unique \u2064form of the Force called majik.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not familiar with \u200cthe extensive Star Wars lore or\u200b haven&#8217;t watched all the seasons of &#8220;The Clone Wars&#8221; and &#8220;Rebels,&#8221; the introduction of pagan elements might catch you off guard. \u200dThe Force, as described by Obi-Wan \u200din &#8220;A New Hope,&#8221; has always \u2062had an Eastern and Buddhist influence, with its emphasis on an energy field connecting all living things. However, the extended canon \u200bof Star\u200c Wars has allowed storytellers to expand on this foundation.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Old \u200dForce\u200c and \u200bthe New\u2064 Majik<\/h2>\n<p>According \u2064to Wookiepedia, these witches in the Star Wars universe tap into an &#8220;aspect&#8221;\u200b of the Force through ancient rituals, talismans, and\u200c voodoo dolls. They derive their\u2063 power from \u2064living sacrifices and certain planets \u200bwith \u200bmalevolent energy. Their rituals, as depicted in &#8220;The Clone\u2064 Wars,&#8221; are genuinely\u200d creepy, \u2064regardless of your age. Their majik grants them abilities such as resurrecting the\u200b dead as zombies,\u2063 inflicting \u200cpain from a distance, creating invisibility potions,\u200b teleportation, and \u2064transforming ordinary creatures into monsters.<\/p>\n<p>If all of this sounds like standard pagan \u2062fare,\u200c that&#8217;s because it is. The\u2063 slow-moving plot revolves around two angsty\u200b teen apprentices, Sabine Wren and\u200c Sith apprentice\u200b Shin\u2064 Hati. However,\u200d the tenderness displayed by\u200c these characters feels out of place\u2062 when they finally confront the Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Nightsisters.<\/p>\n<p>After five\u2062 episodes of emotional turmoil and familial\u2063 conflicts, the \u200bsudden appearance \u200bof frightening witches, a ruthless Thrawn, and a chanting army of spooky stormtroopers feels jarring.
