Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who was ousted as House Speaker just last week, said he would not rule out running for the position again.<\/p>\n<p>Radio host Hugh Hewitt interviewed\u2064 Mr. McCarthy\u200d on \u200dMonday, asking what he\u200b would do if the speaker&#8217;s\u2064 race were deadlocked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Eight Republicans brought \u2064you down. I don\u2019t know if they can change their mind, but I don\u2019t think we\u2019re going to get to \u2063a speaker other\u2064 than Kevin McCarthy this week,\u200b and we can\u2019t not have a speaker right now. I think we need to be strong. I think we need to be united.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, he added, he thought it was \u2064unlikely that the\u2063 eight Republicans who voted him out\u2064 would change their minds.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a personal thing,&#8221;\u200c he said, claiming they were unhappy that\u2064 he didn&#8217;t double down on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/goya-ceo-if-we-shut-down-this-economy-its-the-beginning-of-the-end\/\" title=\"Goya CEO: If We Shut Down This Economy, It\u2019s The \u201cBeginning Of The End\u201d\">government shutdown<\/a>. &#8220;It wasn\u2019t about \u2063where we were going.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>      \u200c    But with the war that erupted in Israel over \u2064the weekend, some are commenting that\u2064 the situation has changed.<\/p>\n<h2>Israel<\/h2>\n<p>      \u2064  \u200dOn Monday, Rep. John Duarte (R-Calif.) told Fox News \u2062that &#8220;there is no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-press-secretary-israeli-palestinian-conflict-must-be-solved-by-local-leaders\/\" title=\"White House Press Secretary: Israeli-Palestinian conflict must be solved by local leaders\">greater friend<\/a> of\u2064 Israel than Kevin McCarthy,&#8221; and called to reinstate him as House speaker.<br \/>\n   \u2064\n    <\/div>\n<p>When Mr. McCarthy was voted out, it marked the\u2064 first\u2063 time in Congress&#8217;s 234 years of history, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-commissions-three-advanced-warships\/\" title=\"China Commissions Three Advanced Warships\">leaving questions<\/a> of how the lower \u200cchamber would\u200c operate \u2063while the seat was open.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) became the Speaker pro tempore, as \u200cMr. McCarthy was able to appoint an acting speaker before he was\u2062 vacate. Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Steve Scalise (R-La.) \u2063are running for the seat, and a vote will take place Oct. 11. But it seems unlikely that the House will conduct\u2062 much business before the vote\u200c takes place, potentially\u200b leaving the\u2064 Israel issue untouched while the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ted-cruz-says-government-shutdown-is-very-likely-amid-spending-fights\/\" title=\"Ted Cruz predicts probable government shutdown amidst spending disputes.\">government shutdown deadline<\/a> of Oct. 17 nears.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. McCarthy also touted his record on Israel in his \u2064interview with Mr. Hewitt.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have spoken to a number\u200c of people in Israel, from the speaker and others \u200cthat are personal friends. President [Isaac] Herzog just called me last week, prior to this,&#8221; he said. His first trip as speaker was to Israel to \u200dspeak at the Knesset, Israel&#8217;s House of \u2063Representatives, at\u200b the anniversary of the \u2062creation of Israel. Separately, he told Fox News that his friends\u200b in Israel say the attack over the \u2063weekend \u200bwas &#8220;their Pearl Harbor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The \u200bfirst thing we need to do is show a clear support for Israel long term. Secondly &#8230; with the number of hostages that were \u2063taken. We should\u2064 build our own team from the individuals from the \u200dhostage situation to help\u200d them in this endeavor. Americans were taken as well. We have the right to do \u2063it,&#8221; he told\u2062 Mr. Hewitt.<\/p>\n<p>He outlined \u200bwhat he \u200dthought Congress should act in \u200dthe coming days, \u200dtaking \u200ca strong stance in support of Israel and denouncing the Hamas,\u2062 as well\u200d as putting pressure on \u2064Iran.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out\u200c that anti-Semitism has grown, even in the halls of \u2063Congress.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I remember when [Rashida] Talib wanted \u200dto have an anti-Semitism meeting, I canceled the\u2064 room,&#8221; he said, referring \u2063to the congresswoman of Palestinian descent.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m still a \u200bmember [of Congress]. I&#8217;m going to continue to fight and act,&#8221; he said. \u2062&#8221;This is a time for Congress to speak as one voice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Duarte said on Fox News that &#8220;facts \u2064are much different today than they were Tuesday of last week&#8221; with the attack on Israel and called on \u200chis \u2064Democratic counterparts to allow Mr. McCarthy to be voted back in.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kevin McCarthy has been engaged in world affairs. \u2064We\u200c need Kevin McCarthy back in the speakership \u2064right now. We need\u2064 to get that vote done this week,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They&#8217;re \u200dgoing to \u2063run out of ordnance, and we&#8217;re not going\u2064 to be able to authorize \u200cthe\u2064 funding to get them the weapons and the defense they need. We have one of our strongest allies in the world under attack, and we are dilly-dallying around with a \u2064leadership struggle in the House \u2063that should\u200d never have occurred.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jordan, who is running \u200dfor speaker, said on Fox News that his first move if elected would be to help Israel.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There will be some resolution on the floor to support the state of Israel,&#8221; he told Maria Bartiromo. &#8220;This is our great friend and great ally, the state of Israel,<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What does McCarthy believe were the reasons behind the eight Republicans \u2064voting against him, and does he think\u2064 they would change their minds in the future<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Rep.
