Right now,\u2062 though, many on the left seem upset that conservatives are\u2063 pointing\u200d out that the last two Democratic administrations \u2063have appeased and funded the terror states responsible for the attack that has killed hundreds, \u200cif not thousands,\u200c of Israelis and at least four\u200d Americans. <\/p>\n

There is,\u200b most obviously, Joe Biden\u2019s recent $6 billion gift<\/a> \u200cto the mullahs.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot a single cent from these funds has been spent,\u200c and when it is spent, it can only be spent \u200bon things like\u200d food and medicine for the Iranian people,\u201d a White House\u200d National \u2064Security Council\u200b spokeswoman said<\/a>. This pathetic and \u200bpedantic deflection was repeated \u200cendlessly by the president\u2019s\u2062 defenders. Even \u2062a child understands \u200cthe concept\u200c of \u2062fungibility. \u2063It is true that Hamas didn\u2019t spend that \u2063 exact funding <\/em>on their terror proxies. Islamic fascists, like\u200b everyone else, make fiscal plans with an eye on future earnings and spending. And the hostage-taking \u2062business happens to\u200b be \u2063booming.<\/p>\n

And no, the $6 billion was not \u201ctheir money\u201d \u2014\u200c no more than the roughly $25 billion that the\u200c Biden administration let<\/a> Iran walk away with by ignoring sanctions or the $10 billion\u2062 it\u2063 gave \u2063Iran via \u2064a waiver<\/a> \u2064 to Iraq was\u2062 their money. Sanctions separated the terror state from its money. That\u2019s the \u2064entire point. <\/p>\n

The\u200b only thing more ludicrous than the notion of the \u2064mullahs abiding\u2062 by an agreement with the United States is the idea that their buddies in Qatar,\u2062 the \u200dcountry overseeing the funds, \u2063is going to make\u200c them spend their newfound cash on \u201chumanitarian aid.\u201d <\/p>\n

At \u2064the time \u2064of the first payment, Secretary of State Antony Blinken regurgitated\u2062 mind-numbing Brookings Institute platitudes about the money offering<\/a> \u201ccritical \u2063relief\u201d\u200d and fostering \u201ceconomic development, and \u200dsupports Israeli-Palestinian understanding, \u200dsecurity coordination and stability.\u201d <\/p>\n
Not one Palestinian cheering\u200c Jewish \u200ddeaths on the streets \u200cof Gaza City is\u200b better off today because\u200b of our money. Most are now in grave danger. Hamas wants as many casualties as possible. \u2064Not one of the \u200cHamas terrorists who\u200c has brought \u2064destruction on his\u200d neighbors and families \u2014 many of them likely recruited and trained after the windfall of American cash \u2014 was disinclined to slaughter defenseless women and children. Hamas and Iran\u200c keep telling us\u200c what\u2064 they\u2019re going to do, and Democrats keep pretending they don\u2019t\u2063 mean it.\u2063 <\/p>\n

Republicans, like them or not, \u200c warned<\/a> that the money would be diverted to upgrading\u2064 the terror apparatus. And the administration knew it as well. An internal State Department document also warned<\/a> \u2064that \u201cthere is \u200ba\u200d high \u200drisk Hamas could potentially derive indirect<\/a>,\u2064 unintentional benefit from U.S. assistance to Gaza.\u201d\u00a0Indeed. \u2063The same way Iran derives indirect, unintentional benefit from U.S. assistance.<\/p>\n
In\u2063 any event, the \u200bnotion that Hamas could unleash this coordinated attack on\u2064 this scale without Iranian funding and logistical \u2063help \u200dis ludicrous. Yet even after Hamas publicly<\/a> thanked \u2062the\u2063 Islamic Republic for arming and\u200b funding its operation, Blinken\u2063 was<\/a> \u2062yammering \u2064on about how \u2064\u201cin this specific instance, we have not \u200byet seen evidence that Iran directed or was behind this\u200d particular attack.\u201d <\/p>\n
So often the contemporary Democrat is reflexively defensive of Iran \u200bor Hamas. \u200bThe very first message from the United States government\u200b regarding the massacre of hundreds of innocent Jews was from the Office of Palestinian Affairs, urging<\/a> \u201call sides to\u200b refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks,\u201d as\u2062 if there\u2062 is \u200bany moral or functional equivalence between the terrorists who execute civilians \u200dat\u2063 a music festival and those rushing to \u200csave them.<\/p>\n
The tweet was deleted, but the\u2062 sentiment\u2062 is identical to that taken up \u200bby\u2062 congressional \u201csquad\u201d members and other terror apologists of the growing progressive\u200b left. Jews \u200bare expected to \u2064be\u2063 murdered and then cease fire. And the same people who pretend that criticizing \u2063George Soros is an\u200d antisemitic dog whistle<\/a> have\u200d not a word of condemnation \u2062for these Hamas\u2062 apologists. <\/p>\n
In the end, these people \u2064will all frame Israel as a villain for\u2062 defending itself. This positioning \u200chas been increasingly\u200b normalized \u200dever since Barack Obama, fixated<\/a> on lifting Iran into a regional superpower, turned \u2062on Israel.\u2064 The former president\u2019s people\u2063 now infest the Biden \u200cadministration\u2062 and the State Department.<\/p>\n
Just take Biden\u2019s lead negotiator with Iran, Rob \u2062Malley. It has always\u200b been difficult to tell\u200d which side Malley was working for, but we recently learned<\/a> \u2014 \u200dwell, some of us recently learned, since most of the media refuse to report on the story \u2014 \u200dthat the Iran negotiator had hired at least \u200cthree advisers who\u200b secretly pledged to work \u2062for the Islamic State. We have the emails. No one has denied their authenticity. One of these \u200bpeople, Ariane \u2062Tabatabai, still \u2063works at the Pentagon.<\/p>\n

None of it is really that surprising. During the 2008 campaign, Obama pretended to sever ties<\/a> with Malley when the \u200blatter \u200bwas caught \u2064meeting with Hamas \u2014 a group that,\u200c even then, was designated a terror organization \u2063by the Justice Department. When it\u2062 was \u2064safe, Malley and other Obama allies met with Hamas again in\u200b 2010, this time with the administration\u2019s blessing. \u201cThis administration is different\u200d from the\u200b previous administration,\u201d said \u200dDeputy \u200dForeign Minister \u2062Ahmed Yusuf, The Wall Street \u2062Journal reported<\/a>. \u201cWe believe Hamas\u2019s message is reaching its\u200c destination.\u201d<\/p>\n
Obama, of course, rehired Malley, who was one of the architects of the disastrous Iran Deal, helping bring the terror state closer to\u200b nuclear weapons. Joe Biden then hired the man who had Hamas\u2019 ear \u2063to be the\u2064 lead\u2064 envoy in\u200b Iran negotiations.<\/p>\n
Malley recently lost security clearance for\u2062 reportedly mishandling classified\u200b documents<\/a>, though we don\u2019t know \u200dexactly what he did.\u2063 What we\u2062 do know\u2064 is that he was either\u200b a useful idiot, a fellow traveler, or a traitor. Maybe \u200bnow that his friends have unleashed war in the Middle East some intrepid reporter with access will find \u200bout.<\/p>\n
Anyway, as expected, The Wall \u200dStreet Journal now\u2062 reports<\/a> that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard\u200d Corps \u200chad \u200bindeed helped the Hamas regime.\u2063 The IRGC devised incursion from\u2063 land, air, and \u2062sea, \u201crefined during \u2062several meetings \u2064in Beirut \u200battended by IRGC officers and representatives of four Iran-backed militant groups, \u200bincluding Hamas, which holds \u200cpower in Gaza, and Hezbollah, a Shiite militant group\u2063 and political faction in\u200b Lebanon.\u201d<\/p>\n
