This shocking revelation has led to a lawsuit against the parts supplier, London-based AOG Technics.<\/p>\n<p>AOG Technics, a company that acquires and sells engine \u200dparts to maintenance and repair organizations, allegedly supplied these unapproved parts. They have been found in a small number of jet engines on\u200c U.S. aircraft belonging to United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Southwest\u2064 Airlines, as well as some European carriers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>The engine model most affected is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safran-group.com\/products-services\/cfm56-best-selling-engine-commercial-aviation-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CFM56<\/a>, \u200cproduced by CFM International. While the full extent of the \u2063problem is still unclear, Andries estimates that around &#8220;100 parts may be affected.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t know who they sold those parts to and whether all airlines have done \u2063their checks,&#8221; said Andries. <\/p>\n<h2>When\u200d Was the \u2063Issue Discovered?<\/h2>\n<p> The issue was initially uncovered by TAP Air Portugal this summer.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>In July, TAP Air Portugal reported the problem after \u200cdiscovering that &#8220;parts installed \u200bon certain\u200d CFM International manufactured engines were supported by fraudulent documentation,&#8221; according to CH-Aviation news.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>On September 21, the Federal Aviation\u200d Administration (FAA) issued an unapproved \u200dparts notification (UPN) regarding \u200ca bushing sold by AOG\u200d Technics\u2063 without FAA production approval.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>The FAA&#8217;s notice followed the European Union Aviation Safety Agency&#8217;s alert in early August, which notified\u200b affected \u200dorganizations about\u2062 &#8220;suspected unapproved parts\u200b distributed by AOG Technics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>&#8220;Occurrence reports have been submitted \u200bto the European Union Aviation Safety Agency \u200b(EASA) indicating that several CFM56 engine parts distributed by AOG Technic have been supplied with a falsified Authorized Release Certificate (ARC),&#8221; \u200dstated EASA in an alert dated August 4. &#8220;In each confirmed example, the approved [organization], identified on the ARC, has attested\u2062 that the form\u2062 did not originate within their [organization] and the certificate has been falsified.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>US Carriers Respond<\/h2>\n<p>Southwest Airlines, with a fleet of over 800 Boeing 737s, found only one engine affected. &#8220;We became aware of the issue \u2062in early August and took necessary steps to ensure we do not have any parts in our fleet from AOG,&#8221; \u200dSouthwest Airlines stated. &#8220;Our suppliers conducted a review of Southwest parts\u200d and identified one \u200cengine\u200c that contained two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/major-us-airlines-discover-unapproved-jet-engine-parts-installed-in-aircraft\/\" title=\"US Airlines Find Unauthorized Jet Engine Parts in Planes\">low-pressure turbine blades<\/a> from this vendor.\u2064 In an abundance of caution, we made an immediate decision to promptly replace\u2063 those parts on that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/2-people-dead-in-michigan-plane-crash\/\" title=\"2 people dead in Michigan plane crash\">single engine<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>American Airlines \u200dconducted internal\u2063 audits and worked with suppliers to identify affected aircraft. &#8220;Safety is the\u200b foundation on which our airline is built \u200cand operates every day,&#8221; said American \u2064Airlines. &#8220;Through the work of internal\u2062 audits as well as collaboration with our suppliers, we&#8217;ve identified the uncertified components on a small number of aircraft &#8211; each [was] immediately taken out of service for replacement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Delta Airlines reported that less than 1 \u2064percent of its \u200dengines contained unapproved parts. &#8220;Delta has \u200bbeen informed by one of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/delta-becomes-fourth-major-u-s-airline-to-discover-fake-jet-aircraft-engine-parts\/\" title=\"Delta joins three other major U.S. airlines in uncovering counterfeit jet engine parts.\">engine service providers<\/a> that a small number of engines they \u2062overhauled for us\u200c contain certain parts that do not meet documentation requirements,&#8221; Delta stated. \u200b&#8221;Working with the overhaul provider, we are in \u200dthe process of\u200c replacing those parts\u200c and\u2062 remain in compliance with all FAA \u200dguidelines \u200d- because safety\u200d is\u200b always our priority.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>United Airlines discovered that AOG Technics\u200b parts were installed on two aircraft, but only \u2062in\u200d a single engine on each one. &#8220;As we investigated this matter, we learned that compressor stator\u200b vane seals from this supplier had been installed on a single engine on each of two aircraft, including one that was already undergoing routine \u200bmaintenance,&#8221; United Airlines explained. &#8220;We are replacing the affected engines on both aircraft before they are returned to service, \u200cand we&#8217;ll continue to investigate as new information\u200c becomes available from \u2062our suppliers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>CFM\u2064 International has filed a lawsuit accusing AOG Technics of falsifying documents to sell engine \u2064parts to airlines, according to Fox Business News.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Epoch Times was unable to\u2064 locate contact\u200b information \u200bor a website for AOG Technics.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> Has American Airlines found any unapproved \u2063parts in their aircraft and what measures\u2064 are they taking to ensure compliance with regulations?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Om AOG Technics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Delta Airlines stated that they have identified and removed\u200d the unapproved parts from their CFM56 engines. United Airlines \u200calso confirmed that they have taken the \u200cnecessary\u200d steps to address the issue and ensure the safety of \u200btheir aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>American Airlines, on the other hand, said that they \u2064have not \u200bfound any unapproved parts\u200b in their aircraft so far.
