They argue that these doctors are\u2062 violating the 1849 statute that currently prohibits abortion and\u200b is currently being debated\u2062 in the courts.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;They&#8217;re the medical professionals. They&#8217;re not above the law,&#8221; Dan Miller of Pro-Life Wisconsin passionately expressed to the Washington Examiner.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ever since\u200c the overturning of Roe v. Wade in June 2022,\u2064 abortion has \u200dbeen illegal in Wisconsin. The Antebellum statute 940.04, which bans the \u2062controversial procedure, immediately came\u2062 into effect.<\/p>\n<p>However, in \u2062July, Dane County Circuit Judge Diane Schlipper interpreted the 19th-century legislation to only forbid coerced abortions or attacks on pregnant women. \u2064This ruling opened\u200c the door for the state&#8217;s \u200babortion ban to proceed through higher-level courts. Despite this, Planned \u200cParenthood of Wisconsin resumed\u200c abortion services in Milwaukee\u200c and Madison as of September 18.<\/p>\n<p>Miller sees this move by Planned \u2064Parenthood as audacious, considering the ongoing legal \u200cchallenge against the abortion ban. \u2062&#8221;They&#8217;re performing illegal abortions, and I&#8217;m sure\u2062 all these doctors are very well-meaning, but they&#8217;ve been misinformed,&#8221; Miller stated. &#8220;They got bad advice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Miller&#8217;s frustration led him to contact the Milwaukee police department on September 18,\u2062 urging them to enforce the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-court-delivers-another-blow-to-abortion-providers-challenging-texas-heartbeat-bill\/\" title=\"Federal Court Delivers Another Blow To Abortion Providers Challenging Texas Heartbeat Bill\">anti-abortion statute<\/a> despite Schlipper&#8217;s ruling. However, he claims \u200dto have\u2063 been &#8220;hung up on&#8221; \u2064by the chief of police \u200dafter facing resistance\u2062 from the Dane County Sheriff&#8217;s \u200cOffice.<\/p>\n<p>After exhausting other legal options\u2063 to halt abortions in\u2064 the state,\u2063 Miller \u2064had the idea\u2063 to approach the state medical licensing\u2062 board. &#8220;If there are any\u200d complaints lodged against [physicians], they have to address\u200d the complaint in \u2064some way,&#8221; Miller explained.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood Wisconsin did not respond to requests for comment\u2063 from the Washington Examiner.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-Life Wisconsin \u2064filed a complaint against the\u2063 statewide organization, as well as the medical director for \u2064Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Kathy King, and OB-GYN Kristin Lyerly from the Green Bay area.<\/p>\n<p>Lyerly, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wisconsin-anti-abortion-group-challenges-medical-licenses-of-abortion-doctors\/\" title=\"Wisconsin anti-abortion group questions licenses of abortion doctors.\">prominent abortion rights activist<\/a> in \u200bthe \u200bregion, \u2062ran for the Wisconsin\u200b State \u2063Assembly in 2020 but lost to incumbent John Macco. There were speculations in May that Lyerly might run against U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI)\u200c in the 2024 election.<\/p>\n<p>However, Miller&#8217;s main motive for filing complaints against abortion providers is to attract\u200d greater scrutiny from\u2063 malpractice insurance companies that cover Planned Parenthood. \u2064&#8221;If I \u2062commit\u200b an illegal act \u200bin my house and it results in a\u200b fire, the insurance company won&#8217;t \u200dcover the claim because the fire\u2062 was a result of an illegal act,&#8221; Miller explained.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s \u2064a\u200b sad, sad day \u200cwhen an organization like \u200bPlanned Parenthood has\u2062 no other option but to break the \u200blaw,&#8221; Miller\u2063 lamented.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Click here to read more from the Washington Examiner.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What\u200c are the arguments of critics\u200b who believe that organizations like Pro-Life Wisconsin are infringing on a woman&#8217;s right to \u200cchoose and why do they believe \u2063access to safe and\u2064 legal abortions\u2063 is essential for women&#8217;s reproductive rights<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Al battle over the statute&#8217;s interpretation. He believes that physicians who are performing abortions are willfully violating the law and \u2064should \u200dbe \u2063held accountable for \u200btheir actions.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-Life Wisconsin, the organization spearheading this movement, has taken legal action \u2062to address what \u200dthey see as a \u200dclear violation of the law. They have filed complaints with the Wisconsin Medical Examining \u2064Board against several\u2062 physicians who continue to perform abortions\u2063 despite the ban.<\/p>\n<p>According to Pro-Life Wisconsin, the 1849 statute is clear in its language and intent.
