The Securities and Exchange Commission\u200b (SEC) has announced an investigation into Elon Musk&#8217;s\u2064 acquisition of Twitter, now known as X. But it doesn&#8217;t stop there &#8211; they are\u200d even dragging him to court, demanding his\u200c testimony. This lawsuit\u200b comes almost a year after\u2064 President Joe Biden,\u2062 the creeper-in-chief, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/we-all-knew-bidens-goons-would-target-elon-musk-the-president-telegraphed-it-last-november\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hinted<\/a> that Musk&#8217;s business move was worth scrutiny, refusing to rule out \u2064the possibility of him\u2062 being a national security\u200d threat.<\/p>\n<p>When asked how he \u200cwould approach\u200c this, \u2064Biden ominously chuckled, &#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of ways.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BIDEN: I think that\u200d Elon\u2064 Musk&#8217;s cooperation and or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of\u2064 being looked at. \u200dWhether or not he is doing anything inappropriate \u2014 \u2063I&#8217;m not suggesting\u200c that \u2014 I&#8217;m suggesting that\u2062 it&#8217;s worth \u2064being looked at. Is No Agency Off Limits?\">multiple government agencies<\/a> have launched \u200dinvestigations and lawsuits against Musk and his various businesses.\u200d CNBC\u2063 reported\u200b that the SEC has sued Musk, aiming to force him to \u2064testify about his Twitter purchase from last year.<\/p>\n<p>Musk, however, failed to appear for testimony on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/10\/05\/sec-sues-to-force-musk-to-testify-in-twitter-probe.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">September \u206315<\/a> after being\u200b served a subpoena in May 2023.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Musk&#8217;s ongoing refusal\u200c to \u200dcomply with the SEC&#8217;s administrative subpoena \u200cis hindering and delaying\u2064 the SEC staff&#8217;s investigation to\u200d determine whether violations \u2063of the federal \u200csecurities laws have occurred,&#8221; the attorneys wrote in \u200dthe complaint. &#8220;Accordingly, the SEC now asks the Court to \u2062compel Musk to appear for investigative testimony.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But what exactly is Musk&#8217;s crime? On paper, it&#8217;s hard to say.
