John Cornyn (R-Tex.) \u200ddeclared Tuesday that the ouster of Kevin McCarthy \u200cas Speaker of the House was tantamount to a \u201cterrorist attack,\u201d \u2064suggesting that the eight House members who voted with Democrats\u2064 to remove McCarthy were, themselves, terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe saw \u2063a similar thing happen\u200c to Boehner, Ryan,\u200c and now McCarthy. I\u2019m\u2062 sure the next speaker is going to be subjected to the same terrorist attacks,\u201d Cornyn said. Later, Cornyn doubled down on his remarks,\u2064 writing on X, \u201cA handful [of] House members just want to blow\u200b up the\u2062 institution and themselves in the process. Sad.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>A Misguided Comparison<\/h3>\n<p>To be clear,\u200d a cut-and-dry democratic\u2062 vote to remove someone from a place of power is the farthest thing from a\u200b terror attack, which involves a premeditated, violent assault that inflicts injury, death, and fear on \u2062a populace.<\/p>\n<p>In likening eight Republicans to \u201cterrorists,\u201d Cornyn joins the left in their\u2063 campaign \u200bto label virtually all conservatives \u2014 the very people Cornyn claims to represent\u2062 \u2014 as dangerous domestic\u200b extremists and terrorists.<\/p>\n<h3>The Fallout of Jan. 6<\/h3>\n<p>The catalyst for this\u200c slanderous \u200dnarrative was the events of Jan. 6, 2021,\u200d which the deep state used to vilify, torture, and, without due\u200d process,\u2064 imprison innocent conservatives for the \u200ccrime\u200c of questioning\u2063 a rigged election. Countless peaceful J6 protesters were \u200clabeled domestic terrorists \u200dby the feds, Democrats, corporate media, and even Republican leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The terrorism accusation spread from those present at\u2063 the capitol to anyone who \u2064identifies with the right. Indeed, \u200clast year, during a discussion\u200d about the \u200dJan. 6, 2021 protest, \u201cRepublican\u201d Russia hoaxer and disgraced Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe\u2064 likened conservatives to members of \u2062the Islamic Caliphate and called for more robust surveillance of \u201cmainstream\u201d\u2063 conservatives.<\/p>\n<h3>FBI&#8217;s\u2062 Targeting of \u200bTrump\u2063 Supporters<\/h3>\n<p>McCabe\u2019s\u200c sadistic hopes\u2062 have largely come true. A\u200b report published today in \u2062Newsweek detailed how the FBI \u200dhas \u201cquietly created \u200ca new category\u201d of domestic terrorists, known as \u201cAnti-Government, \u200cAnti-Authority Violent Extremism\u201d (AGAAVEs). Classified data obtained by\u200b Newsweek, however, reveals that \u201cAnti-Government, Anti-Authority Violent Extremism\u201d \u2063is just code for \u2062the supporters \u2064of \u2062former President Donald Trump.\u2062 The new label is \u2063a way\u2064 for the Biden DOJ to target people based on their political beliefs without being explicit.<\/p>\n<p>According to FBI data\u2064 obtained by Newsweek, \u201cnearly two-thirds of the\u200b FBI\u2019s\u2064 current investigations are focused on Trump supporters.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>A Pattern of Targeting<\/h3>\n<p>None of this should be\u200c surprising given \u2062that President Joe Biden repeatedly tells us exactly \u2063what he thinks about half the American public. \u201cDonald Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to the very soul of this country,\u201d Biden tweeted last September.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t stop with Trump supporters. After Jan. 6, Biden\u2019s\u2063 FBI launched an investigation into \u201cterrorist\u201d parents who opposed child mask mandates and the teaching \u2063of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">critical race theory<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/prageru-what-are-your-kids-learning-in-school\/\" title=\"PragerU: What Are Your Kids Learning In School?\">local school board meetings<\/a>. In a brazen \u200bviolation of the First Amendment, the FBI investigated and seemingly infiltrated and\u2063 surveilled Latin mass-attending Catholics, whom the bureau labeled \u201cRadical-Traditionalist Catholics\u201d and \u200dpotential \u201cRacially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Cornyn&#8217;s True \u2064Colors<\/h3>\n<p>Cornyn\u2019s statement \u200cis\u2064 consistent with what he truly is: controlled opposition. He supports federal legislation that brazenly violates the Second Amendment; applauds the risky experimental Covid vaccines, which were forced\u2063 on large swaths of the \u200bAmerican \u2064public with complete disregard for bodily autonomy; pushes for legislation allowing \u2063the Biden administration\u200d to force public schools to teach racist,\u200b anti-American Critical Race Theory; opposes House Republicans who are trying to \u2062investigate Democrats\u2019 witch hunt against former President Donald\u2063 Trump; and, continues \u2063to support fueling the bloody conflict in Ukraine by demanding blank\u200c checks \u200bbe sent to Volodymyr Zelensky. \u2062(Zelensky, notably,\u2062 refuses to hold elections until the war is over and \u2062has moved to restrict the religious practices of Ukraine\u2019s second-largest denomination of Orthodox Christians.)<\/p>\n<p>Like the Democrats and their\u2063 partners in the deep state, Cornyn deeply loathes the genuinely conservative \u2064sect of the Republican Party and, like the left, sees utility in labeling them \u201cterrorists.\u201d Leftists want to wield and maintain power by\u200d force, and their way of doing so\u2064 is by demonizing and criminalizing political opposition. \u2064Throughout history, dehumanizing lies of this \u2062nature have\u200c led to unimaginable atrocities. Any Republican who parrots the \u2064narrative that \u200bconservatives \u2062are terrorists is not an \u200bally \u2014 they\u2019re a snake in the grass.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> \u200dIs\u200d it \u200dfair to label all conservatives as terrorists or\u200b extremists based on \u2064the actions of a\u2063 few\u2062 individuals?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Week, echoing the sentiment of the left \u2063that anyone who supports Trump or\u200b identifies \u2064with conservative values\u200c is a threat to the nation. This pattern of\u2063 targeting \u2063conservatives as terrorists or extremists is not only \u200dfalse \u2064but\u2064 also dangerous for the future of our democracy.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Cornyn&#8217;s comparison between the removal of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker and a terrorist attack is \u2064not\u200d only misguided but also\u2062 inflammatory. It perpetuates the\u200d false narrative that all conservatives are extremists and \u200cterrorists, which is simply not true. It is important to remember that democracy allows for the peaceful \u2062transfer of power and the ability \u2063to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-white-house-goes-to-war-against-biden-impeachment-inquiry\/\" title=\"White House battles Biden impeachment inquiry\">hold \u2063elected officials accountable<\/a> through democratic processes.<\/p>\n<p>The events of January 6, \u200b2021, should not be\u2062 used to label all conservatives as\u2062 terrorists. While there were undoubtedly individuals who engaged\u2062 in violent and\u2064 unlawful acts during the \u200bCapitol riot, it is \u2063unjust to categorize an entire political movement or ideology based \u200bon the actions of a few. The majority of \u200dconservatives peacefully exercise their rights to protest, express their opinions,\u2063 and participate in \u200bthe democratic process.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI&#8217;s targeting\u200b of Trump supporters, as revealed\u2064 by the \u200cNewsweek\u200b report, is deeply\u2063 concerning. It \u200bis a clear violation of\u200d individuals&#8217; rights to be \u200ctargeted solely\u200b based on their political\u2062 beliefs. The creation \u200bof categories such\u200b as &#8220;Anti-Government, Anti-Authority Violent Extremism&#8221;\u200b allows the\u200d government to surveil and target individuals who\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republican-sen-john-cornyn-joins-the-deep-state-in-calling-conservatives-terrorists\/\" title=\"GOP Sen. Cornyn Joins Deep State, Labels Conservatives as Terrorists\">simply hold \u2063differing political\u2062 views<\/a>. This \u2062not only erodes trust in our law enforcement agencies \u200cbut also\u200c undermines\u2063 the \u200cprinciples of democracy \u2062and free speech.<\/p>\n<p>Labeling conservatives\u2062 as terrorists or extremists based on their political beliefs\u2062 is a dangerous tactic that seeks to \u2063silence opposing \u2064voices\u200d and limit the diversity of opinion in\u2064 our democracy. It is essential\u2062 that we promote\u200b civil discourse, respect differing viewpoints, and engage in constructive dialogue to \u200caddress the challenges facing our nation. Senator Cornyn&#8217;s\u200c comparison only serves to\u2062 further polarize our society and \u2063hinder \u2063the progress we can make \u200cthrough open and respectful debate.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, equating the removal\u2064 of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House to \u200da terrorist attack \u2063is not only inappropriate but also detrimental to \u2063our \u200bdemocracy.
