Additionally, many more could \u200bdie soon if water temperatures continue to rise.<\/p>\n<p>As a result\u2064 of the drastic environmental issue, Amazonas\u2064 Governor Wilson Lima declared a state of emergency\u2062 on Friday, September 29<sup>th<\/sup>, in response\u2063 to the historic drought and \u200dbegan\u2063 a\u2064 response plan valued at $20 million.<\/p>\n<p>According to \u2063the Mamirau\u00e1 Institute, \u200ba research group \u2064of \u2062Brazil\u2019s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, two more deceased dolphins were discovered on\u200b Monday in the region near Tef\u00e9 Lake, \u2062which is a\u2064 prominent location for\u200b mammals and fish \u2064in \u200cthe area. <\/p>\n<p>The local Brazilian media has also stated that thousands \u200dof fish\u200b have died\u200c in the area. <\/p>\n<p>The Amazon \u200bRiver \u200cis known as the world\u2019s largest waterway and its basin is\u200d attached to\u2064 the Amazon \u200dRainforest, known for its biodiversity where millions of species \u2064reside. \u2062However, human activity and severe weather conditions\u2064 in the region have brought\u200d about many environmental concerns.\u2064 <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe \u200dpast month in Tef\u00e9\u200c has seemed like a\u2062 science-fiction climate-change\u2062 scenario,\u201d Daniel Tregidgo,\u200b a British researcher living\u2063 in the area, \u2063told <em>The Guardian<\/em>. \u201cRegular\u200c sightings of pink river dolphins are one of the great\u2062 privileges of living in the heart of the \u200bAmazon. To know that\u200b one has died is \u200bsad, but to see piles of \u2062carcasses, knowing that this \u200ddrought has killed over 100, is a tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The mayor of Tef\u00e9, Nicson Marreira, announced that his government was affected due to the dry rivers.
