In order to keep the speakership, he\u2019s willing to\u200d do things that \u2062he,\u2064 I think, he knows are inconsistent with the constitutional processes,&#8221; President Biden said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is a group of MAGA Republicans\u2063 who genuinely want\u2062 to have a fundamental change in\u200d the way that the system works,&#8221; President Biden continued. &#8220;And that\u2019s what\u200d worries me the most.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Speaker\u200d fight &#8220;is something for\u200b House Republicans to decide,&#8221; said Ms. Jean-Pierre, who took a\u2062 shot \u200cat \u2063the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/politicians-in-mexico-hold-midnight-vote-to-militarize-federal-police\/\" title=\"Politicians in Mexico Hold Midnight Vote to Militarize Federal Police\">lower congressional chamber<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Look &#8230; there is chaos in\u2063 House Republicans. I \u2063mean, what we saw this weekend should not have happened. It \u200cshould not have happened,&#8221; she said, referring to the U.S. government being saved from shutting\u200c down at \u200dthe \u206211th hour with\u200d a 45-day continuing resolution.<\/p>\n<h2>Their &#8216;Basic,\u2064 Basic, Basic Duty&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;I mean, thank goodness that\u2063 the government is open and that critical programs are now moving forward,&#8221; she \u200bcontinued. &#8220;But they should have never marched us to \u200cthe brink that they did.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And it is\u200b their basic, basic, basic duty to \u2062keep the government open. And so \u2063we&#8217;re just not going to get involved. That is for House Republicans to\u2064 decide.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) has announced that he \u2064will file a motion to oust Mr. McCarthy, setting\u2062 up another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-drags-down-terry-mcauliffe-in-virginia\/\" title=\"Biden Drags Down Terry McAuliffe in Virginia\">intra-party fight<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the House\u200b floor, Mr. Gaetz said President Biden has been\u2064 taking Mr. McCarthy&#8217;s &#8220;lunch\u2063 money.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Gaetz, who has been in Congress\u200b since 2017, told CNN that \u2064the 45-day continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government was the impetus for his announcement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Speaker McCarthy made an agreement \u200dwith House conservatives\u2062 in January,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And since then,\u2064 he has been in brazen repeated material breach of that agreement. This agreement he \u2063made \u200bwith Democrats to really blow past a lot of\u200d the spending guardrails we had set\u2062 up is a\u2064 last straw.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Gaetz went on to claim: &#8220;Overnight, I\u200b learned that Kevin McCarthy had a secret deal with Democrats on Ukraine. So as he was baiting Republicans to vote for a continuing resolution without Ukraine money, \u200bsaying that we were\u200d going to\u2062 jam the Senate on Ukraine, he \u2062then turns around and makes a secret deal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Jean-Pierre \u2064appeared to deny there \u200bwas a side deal.\u200c Mr. McCarthy told reporters that there was no side deal.<\/p>\n<p>During his House \u200dfloor\u2064 speech decrying the approved spending bill, Mr. \u200bGaetz\u200b blasted\u200c what he \u2062called a &#8220;yellow brick road \u2063paved by\u200b Speaker\u200c McCarthy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Border Security Measures<\/h2>\n<p>The House failed to pass a continuing resolution \u200cas 21 Republicans, including Mr. Gaetz, joined Democrats \u2062to reject a one-month funding bill\u2064 that would have included border security \u2064measures.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation would have reduced\u2064 funding by almost 8.13 percent for almost all 12 appropriations\u2014bringing the total amount of\u2062 spending to $1.59 trillion. It would have run through Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p>These appropriations are Agriculture-Food\u200d and Drug Administration; Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; Department of Defense; Energy\u2063 and Water Development and Related\u2064 Agencies; Financial Services\u200b and\u200b General Government Appropriations \u200bAct; Department of Homeland Security; Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies; legislative branch; Military Construction-Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies;\u200b Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs; Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related \u200dAgencies.<\/p>\n<p>The only ones that would have been exempt from the almost 8.13 percent cut \u2063would be the Defense Department, Veterans\u2062 Affairs Department, \u2063and disaster relief.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-administration-says-its-staying-out-of-speaker-fight\/\" title=\"Biden admin avoids Speaker dispute.\">legislation included border security\u200d measures<\/a> such as resuming border wall construction, which President\u200d Biden suspended on Jan. 20, 2021\u2014the day he took office\u2014in\u2063 what \u2062was a repudiation of his predecessor Donald Trump&#8217;s hardline border\u200b and immigration policies.<\/p>\n<p>The CR does not include funding for Ukraine amid its war with\u2063 Russia.<\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 28, with 117 Republicans voting no, 101 Republicans \u200cjoined all 210\u200b Democrats to pass a bill that would provide $300 million in assistance to the Eastern European country.<\/p>\n<p>During his appearance\u2063 on &#8220;State of the Union,&#8221; Mr. \u2064Gaetz dropped his bombshell news about trying to oust the Speaker.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;We Need to \u2063Rip Off \u2064the Band-Aid&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;I do intend to file a motion to\u2063 vacate \u200bagainst Speaker McCarthy this week,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I\u2064 think, I think we need to move on with new leadership that can be trustworthy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Gaetz accused\u2064 Mr. \u200bMcCarthy of going \u2064back and forth on issues and not keeping promises.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Look, the one thing everybody has in common is that nobody trusts\u200d Kevin McCarthy. He lied to Biden. He lied to House conservatives. He had \u200bappropriators marching \u2064to a\u200c different number altogether,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And the reason we were backed up against shutdown politics is not a bug\u2064 of the\u200b system,\u200b it&#8217;s a feature,&#8221;\u200d continued Mr.\u200c Gaetz.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kevin \u200dMcCarthy&#8217;s goal was to make \u2063multiple contradictory promises, to\u2062 delay everything,\u200c back us up against shutdown politics and, at the end of the day, blow past the spending guardrails he agreed to.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On\u200b CBS&#8217;\u200c &#8220;Face the\u2064 Nation,&#8221;\u2063 Mr. \u200bMcCarthy had a response to Mr.\u2064 Gaetz: Game on.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. McCarthy said \u2062Mr. Gaetz&#8217;s\u2062 wanting to get the gavel out of his hand is &#8220;nothing new&#8221; and that\u200d he has sought to do so \u200dsince Mr.\u2064 McCarthy ran for Speaker in January.\u2062 He eventually won the post after 15 rounds of\u200c balloting and\u200c many concessions to \u200cthe hardline Freedom Caucus, including lowering \u2063the \u200bthreshold for putting forth a motion to vacate to just one member.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ll survive.\u2063 You know, \u200cthis is personal\u200d with\u2062 Matt,&#8221; said Mr. \u200bMcCarthy. &#8220;Matt voted against the most conservative ability\u2064 to protect our border, secure our border.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s more interested in securing TV interviews than doing something. He wanted to\u200d push us into a shutdown,\u200d even threatening his own\u2062 district with all the military people there who would not be\u2064 paid\u200d only because\u2063 he wants to\u200c take this motion.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So be it. Bring it on. Let&#8217;s\u2062 get\u2064 over with it. Let&#8217;s start governing again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Retreat \u200bis never a strategy to win \u2063anything,&#8221;\u200c said\u2064 Mr. Gaetz in his House \u200cfloor speech.<\/p>\n<p>Whether House Democrats will\u200c come to \u2062Mr. McCarthy&#8217;s rescue is to be determined. Many scenarios have\u2062 been speculated. One of them could be Mr. McCarthy supporting $24 \u2063billion \u200cin supplemental \u2063Ukraine assistance the \u2064Biden\u200d administration has requested. Additionally, Democrats want\u200c to avoid \u200cbeing seen as \u2062siding with Mr. Gaetz, though they could vote &#8220;present.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Following Mr. Gaetz&#8217;s speech, Rep. Marianette \u200cMiller-Meeks (R-Iowa) said that\u2063 a motion to vacate would \u200b&#8221;derail&#8221; the appropriations\u2062 process and the \u2063impeachment inquiry of President Biden.<\/p>\n<p>As to when exactly Mr. Gaetz will file the\u200c motion\u200b to vacate, as he said in that speech: &#8220;Stay tuned.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2>Into such a chaotic situation. He believes that the Speaker&#8217;s position is crucial for stability and\u200d effective governance. This raises\u200d several questions\u200b related to Political Action\u2064 Committees (PACs):<\/h2>\n<p><span>  The White\u200d House has\u200d made it clear that President Joe Biden will not be involved in the battle for the second \u2063position in line to the presidency.
