Matt Gaetz,\u2062 who has repeatedly hinted at it but\u200d has yet to take action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Meanwhile, \u200bthe House has the task of passing eight\u2062 more appropriations bills and reconciling them with the Senate within\u2064 the \u200dnext seven weeks.<\/p>\n<h2>The January Agreement<\/h2>\n<p>According to an agreement\u200c apparently made between McCarthy and Republican fiscal hawks in the House, \u200dany member of Congress can initiate a vote to vacate the chair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>McCarthy&#8217;s election as Speaker in \u2064January\u200c was\u2064 a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/one-year-after-defunding-the-police-murder-rates-in-these-5-cities-skyrocketed\/\" title=\"One Year After \u2018Defunding The Police,\u2019 Murder Rates In These 5 Cities Skyrocketed\">hard-fought battle<\/a>, lasting four days \u2064and involving a\u2063 record-breaking 15 ballots.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>While Gaetz and others claim that McCarthy has violated the terms of their agreement, they have \u200cfailed to specify exactly what those terms are.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>However,\u2063 one of the alleged\u2064 violations is \u200bMcCarthy&#8217;s failure \u2063to\u2062 adhere\u200c to the\u200d so-called Hastert Rule, which dictates that a Republican speaker should \u2064not seek Democratic support for a bill \u2064that a majority\u2063 of House Republicans oppose.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Despite a majority of\u200d Republicans voting against it, a\u200c funding bill for Ukraine passed the House on September 28.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>&#8220;I do intend\u2064 to file\u2063 a motion to vacate against \u200cSpeaker McCarthy. This week, I think\u200c we need to rip\u2063 off the band-aid,\u200d I think\u200c we need to \u200bmove on with\u200c new leadership that can\u2062 be\u200c trustworthy,&#8221; \u200cGaetz declared during an MSNBC interview on October 1.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-figure\" style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Rep.
