They\u2019re going \u200cto smirk in\u200d your face, and you\u2019re going to have to take it.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200babove takeaway is the biggest takeaway from a viral clip of \u2062the\u200b judge presiding over one of former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-pulls-marker-approaches-farmers-combine-next-move-crowd-cheering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump\u2019s<\/a> many ongoing legal \u2062entanglements.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-trades-haymakers-chris-christie-ex-gov-posts-photo-donald-duck\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> and his legal team\u2063 had their day in court today in Manhattan, as the former president tries to fight \u200ba civil suit that, effectively, claims that Trump and his family defrauded investors by overvaluing the worth of businesses and properties.<\/p>\n<p>The whole stunt is being instigated by far-left Democrat and\u2062 New York attorney general, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-returns-fire-ny-ag-letitia-james-net-worth-fraud-allegations-targeted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Letitia James<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding\u200b Judge Arthur\u200c Engoron ruled last week that Trump did, in fact, commit fraud, per\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-trial-to-begin-in-manhattan-out-of-new-york-attorney-general-letitia-james-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>, with Monday\u2019s trial meant to convince \u2064Engoron otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>If a viral clip of the presiding judge is anything to go by, it\u2019s looking bleak for Team\u200c MAGA:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u2018FULFILLS THE NARRATIVE\u2019: Judge in Trump civil fraud trial seen smiling as former president\u2019s \u200dcase gets underway. \u2063Follow live\u200c updates and developing details. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/chPB8sgKLh\">https:\/\/t.co\/chPB8sgKLh<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/puCG0T53L1\">pic.twitter.com\/puCG0T53L1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Fox News (@FoxNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FoxNews\/status\/1708853762431791491?\">October 2, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>(If you don\u2019t care for all the\u200d fluff, you can see the\u200c specific moment about 40 seconds into the clip.)<\/p>\n<p>In the above clip, like \u200cany <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hollywood-libs-leftists-call-maga-kids-burned-alive-woodchippered-sex-assaulted-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">self-aggrandizing movie star<\/a>, Engoron noticed that the cameras, and thus the spotlight, was squarely on him.<\/p>\n<p>What \u2062did Judge\u200b Engoron do? No, he didn\u2019t sit sternly during the opening\u200c proceedings \u2064or \u2062even bothered to exhibit an\u200b air of neutrality.<\/p>\n<p>Engoron opted to attempt a smile, but appeared to stop just short at a smirk.<\/p>\n<p>Think about \u200bthe optics \u200bof that: You\u2019re in court with the judge who is going to decide your \u200dlegal fate, a very serious matter that impacts American citizens and the American legal justice system every day.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of treating the matter with the gravity it needed (indeed, as heavy as any legal case can be, this one involves a former president and leading GOP presidential candidate), Engoron treated the matter like a\u200d conman who has found his mark.<\/p>\n<p>Social media users on X, formerly Twitter, were quick to call out this \u201cclown show.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The judge in Trump\u2019s case smiles for his closeup.
