(Carol Cassis\/The Epoch Times)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;No matter what challenges we\u200d face, the ultimate answer is God,&#8221; Metaxas declared. &#8220;Without God, \u2064we are\u200d destined to fail.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Metaxas, whose parents fled communism in Greece and Germany after World War II, highlighted the threat of communism, particularly the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Communism is \u200bpure evil. When the state claims to \u2062be God,\u2064 it \u2064leads to slavery,&#8221; he warned. &#8220;Communist China will silence \u200danyone\u200c who dares to oppose them because they value power over human rights.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Metaxas also expressed concern about\u2064 the influence of \u200datheistic and state-controlled ideologies infiltrating\u200d American politics, posing a significant threat to our society.<\/p>\n<p>He cited his own experience at Yale, where professors denied the existence of\u200c God, and Senator Diane Feinstein&#8217;s criticism of Supreme\u2064 Court Justice nominee Amy Coney Barrett&#8217;s Catholic faith during her confirmation hearing in\u2064 2017.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\" style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:633px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Surf City Church in Huntington Beach, Calif., on July 20, 2023. Our country was founded on the principle that people of faith have the right to\u200d express their \u2062beliefs in all aspects of life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Metaxas drew parallels between religious intolerance in the United States and the \u2064severe religious persecution in China,\u2064 where\u2064 the CCP oppresses Uyghur Muslims, detains them in \u200dconcentration \u2063camps, \u200cand engages in illegal organ\u2062 harvesting.<\/p>\n<p>He warned \u2064that the decline of faith in America, \u2062coupled \u2063with atheistic ideologies, could have similarly devastating consequences.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Religious liberty and freedom of speech are the \u200dfoundations of America.
