Let&#8217;s \u200ccheck in on the media this past\u2064 week.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Impeachment watch:<\/strong> \u2062 Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/hunter-biden-received-250k-wire-from-beijing-with-beneficiary-address-listed-as-joe-biden-delaware-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that a Chinese company \u2062listed President Joe Biden&#8217;s home address \u200bin 2019 when it wired\u2062 $250,000 to Hunter Biden. But that wasn&#8217;t enough to \u200bget \u2062the media to abandon their &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/media\/drews-receipts-the-illusion-of-access\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no evidence<\/a>&#8221; \u2063stance, as\u2062 reporters rushed\u200c to\u200c assert yet\u2064 again that the president had\u200b no involvement in his son&#8217;s illicit business dealings. \u2063Here&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/09\/26\/politics\/house-oversight-republicans-hunter-biden-bank-subpoena\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The wires allegedly \u2064were addressed to Hunter\u2063 Biden when his \u200cfather \u200bwas not in office and\u2062 do not prove that Joe Biden received\u200c any of the \u200bmoney. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/01\/20\/politics\/biden-documents-wilmington\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN previously reported<\/a> Hunter Biden \u2063used\u2063 the Wilmington\u200d address on his driver&#8217;s license and the home \u200bwas the site of a family intervention over his \u200ddrug addiction in 2019.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The rest of the media were\u200d similarly dismissive:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/house-republicans-hunter-biden-bank-wires-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS News<\/a>: &#8220;House Republicans claim to \u200dhave bank wires from Beijing \u200cgoing \u2063to Joe\u200d Biden&#8217;s Delaware address. Hunter \u200cBiden&#8217;s attorney explained why&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>President Biden \u200chas long maintained he had no \u2063involvement in \u200chis adult son&#8217;s business dealings. And Tuesday, Hunter Biden attorney \u2063Abbe Lowell told CBS News \u200cthat \u200dthe announcement from congressional Republicans was just the latest example of a finding of purported wrongdoing &#8220;that evaporates in thin\u200d air the moment facts come \u2063out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/comer-issue-subpoenas-today-hunter-biden-james-biden\/story?id=103496028\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC \u2063News<\/a>: &#8220;Comer says he will\u200c issue \u200bsubpoenas &#8216;today&#8217; for \u2062Hunter\u2062 Biden, James Biden \u2063bank records&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Earlier this week,\u2063 Comer\u2063 discussed on Fox News\u200c why \u2062he\u200c wanted to subpoena Hunter\u2064 Biden and James Biden&#8217;s records. He said they want to &#8220;follow the\u200c money&#8221; he says the\u2064 two Bidens and \u200bother family members received from shell companies.\u200b There is \u2062no evidence, to date,\u200c that any of the money is linked to President Biden himself. \u2026<\/p>\n<p>The committee said the \u200ctwo wires showed\u200d Hunter Biden received more than \u200b$250,000 in\u200b the summer \u2063of 2019. The panel \u200ddid not release the bank\u2062 wires in their announcement.<\/p>\n<p>It has been reported that Hunter \u200bBiden often used his father&#8217;s address and \u2062previously lived at\u200c the Wilmington home.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/09\/27\/us\/politics\/house-republicans-biden-hunter-impeachment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>New York Times<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;House Republicans Eye Bribery\u200c and Abuse of\u2063 Power Charges \u200cAgainst Biden&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The first hearing in the impeachment \u200cinquiry comes \u200bas Republicans are grasping for evidence \u2062tying President Biden to\u200c his son&#8217;s foreign business dealings. \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden&#8217;s \u200dlegal team said there was\u2063 nothing nefarious in the transaction.
