Bill O\u2019Reilly says no.<\/h2>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-compete-gop-debate-using-explosive-interview-bill-oreilly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with a former \u200bFox News colleague, Tucker Carlson, O\u2019Reilly noted that \u200b\u201cnone of \u2064the things that he\u2019s charged with would warrant prison\u201d and that the legal proceedings would not be the end of American democracy.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Reilly\u2019s sit-down with Carlson was released on X (insert statement about how\u200c the platform used to \u200dbe called Twitter and, let\u2019s face it, most \u200cpeople still call it that) as\u200b counter-programming to the second \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-campaign-calls-future-gop-debates-canceled-immediately\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GOP debate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, of \u200bcourse, the \u2063topic of Trump\u2019s\u2062 indictments came up as the two Fox vets talked about\u2063 \u201cthe age of disorder,\u201d as O\u2019Reilly \u2064put it.<\/p>\n<p>The relevant portion of the \u200binterview begins at roughly 28:30:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Ep. 26 The \u200bBill O\u2019Reilly Interview <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yHabD7W9NO\">pic.twitter.com\/yHabD7W9NO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TuckerCarlson\/status\/1707190888861229467?\">September 28, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re in a presidential season\u2063 now where the Biden \u2062administration has indicted their opponent, the front-runner in the race \u2014 Trump\u2019s leading in the polls \u2014 four times,\u201d Carlson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd they\u2019re going to try and convict him and send him to jail before \u2062the election and take \u2064his name off\u2062 the ballot,\u201d\u2063 he continued. \u201cSo, I mean, if you\u2019re willing to do that and just end democracy, then what aren\u2019t you willing to do?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut thank God you can\u2019t do it,\u201d O\u2019Reilly responded. \u201cSo, No. 1, he\u2019s not going \u200cto be taken off the ballot. It\u2019s not about justice or the rule of law. It\u2019s \u200cabout the catharsis on the left of seeing Trump in an orange jumpsuit. \u200dSadly, that\u2019s \u200dit.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Reilly may be thinking of a different era, one in which\u200d Democrats thought that putting their political opposition in prison was, at the very \u200dleast, bad optics. Now, they simply don\u2019t care.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the raid on the home\u200b of Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pelosi-becomes-one-latest-dems-turn-menendez-party-can-stay-focused-smearing-gop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert \u2063Menendez<\/a> almost felt quaint.
