Rogers\u200c is accused of directing his portion of the funds to \u2062a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alabama-dem-charged-with-obstructing-federal-corruption-probe\/\" title=\"Alabama Democrat Charged in Federal Corruption Probe Obstruction\">local youth sports program controlled<\/a> by former Democratic representative Fred Plump, who in turn directed some \u2062of \u2062the money to \u200dRogers&#8217;s assistant Kindall.<\/p>\n<p>Plump <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/alabama-democrat-charged-in-scheme-to-bilk-money-from-youth-nonprofit\/\">resigned<\/a> in May after\u2064 he was charged with and agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy and obstruction of justice for his role in the kickback scheme. Each \u2062charge has a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers went\u2062 unnamed in the charging documents for Plump but came forward and said he was referenced as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5-times-the-anti-trump-fbis-trust-us-promise-fell-apart-2\/\" title=\"5 Times The Anti-Trump FBI\u2019s \u2018Trust Us\u2019 Promise Fell Apart\">unnamed representative<\/a> who gave \u2062funds to Plump&#8217;s organization.
