Tim Scott of South Carolina emphasized that many of the challenges faced by \u200bthe black community today are not a result of slavery, but \u2063rather President Lyndon Johnson&#8217;s &#8220;Great Society.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to\u200b Scott, America has overcome the legacy of slavery and\u2062 become\u2064 the greatest nation on earth by confronting \u2062its demons \u200cand \u2064making a decision to move forward.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the resilience of black families who survived slavery, poll \u2063taxes,\u2064 literacy tests, and discrimination embedded in the laws of the \u200ccountry.<\/p>\n<p>The Civil War \u200bwas fought over the issue of slavery, and freedom prevailed with the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>Following the war, the Republican Party championed the passage of the 14th and 15th\u200c Amendments, which\u200b granted\u2063 equal protection under the law and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wow-georgia-judge-who-also-is-stacy-abrams-sister-blocks-elections-officials-from-challenging-voters-who-live-outside-of-registered-district\/\" title=\"WOW!
