Ford isn&#8217;t a member of the CPA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChinese companies should have\u2063 no business qualifying for Inflation Reduction Act tax credits, \u2062and it was a \u200cserious mistake to pass the Inflation Reduction Act without those guardrails in place,&#8221; he added. &#8220;The CCP already heavily subsidizes its renewable energy industry, and companies like\u2062 CATL have deep ties to China\u2019s \u200ccontinued use\u200b of forced labor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CPA has called on Congress to pass legislation to block \u200bChinese companies from\u2063 receiving any \u200bIRA tax credits. Under the IRA, the consumer tax credit \u200dof $7,500 per EV has\u2064 a clause related to \u201cforeign entities of concern,\u201d whose definition and interpretation still await guidelines from \u2064the Department of\u2063 Treasury.
