Because of the poor practices, it has &#8220;fed \u2063to the public by the media and social media, \u200draising undue concern and anxiety&#8221; about long COVID.<\/p>\n<p>A Norwegian study of\u2063 children and younger \u200dpeople between\u2064 the ages of 12\u200b and 15 used a modified definition for what constituted long\u2062 COVID.\u200b The researchers noted that there was a similarity between\u200c the \u2063long COVID group and the control group.<\/p>\n<p>They also\u2063 found: &#8220;When limiting studies to those\u2063 with \u200cacceptable [long COVID] definitions and appropriate controls, we find little\u2063 to no difference in the prevalence of reported persistent symptoms in children by 4 weeks or in\u2064 adults younger than \u200b50 years by 12\u200c weeks post-infection compared with\u2062 controls.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>More \u200bFederal Money Allocated<\/h2>\n<p>The CDC report&#8217;s publication comes \u200cjust days after\u200c the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cdc-report-finds-potentially-millions-of-americans-have-long-covid\/\" title=\"CDC report: Millions of Americans may have Long COVID.\">federal government awarded approximately  million<\/a> in grants to help clinics treating long COVID develop new models of care and expand access, according to \u200dthe Department of\u200c Health and \u200dHuman Services (HHS).<\/p>\n<p>Nine clinics will receive $1\u2062 million grants annually over the next five years through the Agency\u2064 for Healthcare Research and Quality \u2064within HHS, the department said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Biden-Harris Administration\u200b is supporting patients, doctors \u200dand caregivers by providing science-based \u2063best practices for treating long COVID, maintaining \u200baccess to insurance coverage, and protecting the rights of\u2063 workers as they \u2062return\u2064 to jobs\u200c while coping with the uncertainties of their illness,&#8221; said HHS Secretary\u200d Xavier Becerra\u200d last week.<\/p>\n<p>The funding will be used for increasing in-person and virtual visits, establishing new satellite clinics, and an \u2062education initiative aimed at growing referrals.
