The interview, which aired Sunday night, was widely watched and included an allegation that a Royal Family member expressed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/british-lawmakers-call-for-investigation-over-meghan-markles-racism-claims\">concerns<\/a> about the skin color of Markle\u2019s future child.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,\u201d announced Buckingham Palace in a statement released late Tuesday afternoon on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II. \u201cThe issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHarry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members,\u201d the statement concluded.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">BREAKING: Buckingham Palace statement following Meghan and Harry interview:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Who is having that conversation with you. What?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Markle:<\/strong> So, umm<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Winfrey:<\/strong> There is a conversation \u2014 hold, hold up \u2014 stop right now<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Markle:<\/strong> There was several conversations about it.&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Winfrey:<\/strong> There\u2019s a conversation with you \u2014<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Markle:<\/strong> With Harry.&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Winfrey:<\/strong> About how dark your baby is going to be.&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Markle:<\/strong> Potentially and what that would mean or look like.&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Winfrey:<\/strong> And you\u2019re not going to tell me who had the conversation.&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>Markle:<\/strong> I think that would be very damaging to them.&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Markle declined to identify the member of the Royal Family in question, saying it \u201cwould be very damaging to them.\u201d On Monday morning, Winfrey clarified on behalf of Prince Harry the person who had the conversation with him was neither the Queen nor Prince Phillip. He did not identify the person, and Winfrey said she didn\u2019t know either.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thomas Markle, who is estranged from his daughter Meghan, responded to the race allegation Tuesday by saying that he has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/meghan-markles-father-speaks-out-defends-royals-against-racism-accusations\">\u201cgreat respect\u201d for the Royal Family<\/a> and doesn\u2019t believe they\u2019re racist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-paragraph-2Bgue ArticleBody-para-TD_9x\">\u201cI have great respect for the royals, and I don\u2019t think the British royal family are racist at all. I don\u2019t think the British are racist.
