As a result of Intuit&#8217;s actions, the company had to resort to printing paper checks for \u2064several weeks.<\/p>\n<h2>Other Businesses Affected<\/h2>\n<p>Intuit&#8217;s abrupt cessation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/millions-of-tiny-suspicious-political-donations-questioned-by-watchdog-group\/\" title=\"Millions of Tiny, Suspicious Political Donations Questioned by Watchdog Group\">credit card processing services<\/a> for Gunsite Academy, based in Arizona, hindered the business&#8217;s operations, Mr. Cruz\u2064 pointed out. The \u2064academy provided \u200dmarksmanship training and sold guns. According to \u2063the letter, \u2063Intuit\u2063 claimed that its \u200dpolicy \u2064prohibited businesses engaged in &#8220;non-face-to-face gun sales.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Even when Gunsite Academy clarified that\u200b it only shipped firearms\u200b to \u2064dealers and not\u2064 directly to customers, Intuit refused \u200cto lift the ban.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Intuit&#8217;s policy\u2062 effectively prevented small \u2064businesses that sell firearms from operating online,\u200d despite\u200c the fact that \u2064such sales are entirely legal\u200c and heavily regulated,&#8221; the letter\u2062 stated.<\/p>\n<p>Following an \u200dinvestigation conducted by Mr. Cruz&#8217;s staff, Intuit reversed its policy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My staff\u200b will continue their investigation to ensure that no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/accounting-software-company-intuit-reverses-ban-on-gun-related-businesses\/\" title=\"Intuit, an accounting software company, lifts ban on gun-related businesses.\">financial \u2062services firm unnecessarily restricts<\/a> the firearm industry&#8217;s access to accounting \u2063or banking products,&#8221; the letter stated.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>&#8220;Intuit should confirm that its revised policy regarding gun manufacturers and \u200bsellers is final,&#8221; Mr. Cruz emphasized. Additionally, the company should &#8220;update my staff when it has informed its customers of the new\u200c policies and offered to reinstate the \u2062accounts of all the customers that it previously \u2063had removed based on the old \u200bpolicies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Pressured by Banks<\/h2>\n<p>According to Mr. Cruz&#8217;s\u2063 letter, Intuit&#8217;s policies against firearms sellers and\u2062 manufacturers were not solely its own \u2062decision. \u2062The company stated that its two banking partners, Bank of \u2062America \u2063and JPMorgan Chase &#038; Co., demanded the enforcement of such policies.<\/p>\n<p>Bank of \u200bAmerica requested \u2062Intuit to block firearms \u2062manufacturers from using QuickBooks payroll services, while JPMorgan asked \u200bfor restrictions on payment\u200d processing services for firearms sellers, the letter revealed.<\/p>\n<p>JPMorgan admitted to Mr. Cruz&#8217;s \u2064staff that it had issued\u200b such a directive. \u200c&#8221;Bank of America, however, denied giving Intuit any instructions regarding firearm manufacturers or sellers,&#8221; the letter \u200dstated.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Intuit insisted that Bank of America did. \u200bRegardless of who initiated these discriminatory policies against gun manufacturers, \u2064Intuit made the right decision to end them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>A spokesperson for Intuit stated\u200d in an email to The Epoch Times \u200dthat the company&#8217;s acceptable use policy is &#8220;based on various \u200bfactors, including compliance \u200dwith laws and banking partner requirements.
