The move aims to \u200d&#8221;ensure companies \u2064receiving\u200c U.S. Government funds do not undermine our national \u2063security.&#8221; \u2062According\u200c to the rules, recipients of the fund will be prohibited from investing in semiconductor manufacturing in \u2063&#8221;foreign countries of concern,&#8221; such as\u2064 China, for a period of 10 \u2063years. \u200cThey will also be restricted from engaging in joint research or licensing technologies or products that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pompeo-bastes-oz-over-turkey-ties\/\" title=\"Pompeo Bastes Oz Over Turkey Ties\">raise national security concerns<\/a> with any &#8220;foreign entities of concern.&#8221;<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2>Commerce for Industry\u200d and Security, Eric L.\u2064 Hirschhorn, stated, &#8220;These actions are not taken lightly \u200dand are necessary to\u200b protect American interests and national security. The\u200d move is part of\u2062 the ongoing effort to address national security \u2064concerns related\u2063 to China&#8217;s technological advancements and\u200b its alleged\u2064 role in supporting Iran&#8217;s military capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The imposition of\u200c sanctions on entities assisting Russia\u200c in making \u200bmilitary drones is another significant step taken by \u200bthe U.S. government to protect its\u200b national security interests.
