But U.S.\u200b Rep. Matt \u200bGaetz \u200bis proving that assumption wrong. Gaetz has been making waves as one of the most outspoken House Republicans, \u2064challenging Speaker Kevin McCarthy and \u2064President Joe Biden\u2019s administration. However,\u2064 CNN anchor Abby Phillip learned the hard way that Gaetz is not a stand-in \u2062for every conservative\u2062 in the House.<\/p>\n<p>During\u200d an interview, Phillip falsely claimed that Gaetz had voted against a\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-dems-blocking-measure-to-prohibit-imports-made-with-chinese-slave-labor\/\" title=\"Senate Dems Blocking Measure To Prohibit Imports Made With Chinese Slave Labor\">defense appropriations bill<\/a>. Whatever it was, it was likely aimed at embarrassing Republicans and boosting the Democratic narrative. But Gaetz&#8217;s correction threw her off, leading to a flustered apology \u200dand the abrupt end of the interview.<\/p>\n<p>While everyone \u2063can make mistakes, it&#8217;s important to remember that not all conservatives are \u200dthe same. \u200dGaetz&#8217;s fellow Republicans who voted\u200b against the defense rule may share \u2062his\u200d political party and membership in the House Freedom Caucus, but they are not him. CNN&#8217;s assumption\u200b that Gaetz represents\u2063 all conservatives is simply incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, viewers watching CNN missed out on\u2063 Phillip&#8217;s potential zinger, as she never got the chance to ask it.
