Other parents of\u2064 children identifying as transgender echo \u2064that sentiment.<\/p>\n<p>Their painful revelations have \u200bbeen documented in a\u200c new book\u200b called, &#8220;Parents with Inconvenient Truths about \u2062Trans: \u200bTales From the Home Front in the\u200c Fight to Save Our Kids.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Influencing Sex-change<\/h2>\n<p>People who identify as transgender \u200boften speak \u2063publicly, especially on social media,\u200b about the rejection they&#8217;ve faced from family.<\/p>\n<p>However, testimonies in\u2063 the PITT book suggest that, often, the opposite response is true, and acceptance is \u200boffered.<\/p>\n<p>In their essays in the \u200cPITT book, parents talked about how schools, peers,\u200b and \u200dtheir own families supported their children in newly announced \u200c&#8221;gender \u2064identities,&#8221; at first.<\/p>\n<p>They began to\u2063 object, they said, when they began \u2063to\u200d witness changes they felt were harmful to their children.<\/p>\n<p>Some LGBT activist groups, including The \u200cHuman Rights Campaign (HRC), say that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/parents-in-nationwide-support-group-share-about-their-childrens-gender-transitions\/\" title=\"Parents nationwide share stories of their children's gender transitions in support groups.\">gender \u200dtransition\u2064 helps transgender-identifying\u200d individuals feel<\/a> more aligned with their\u2063 identity or\u2063 appearance.<\/p>\n<p>But\u200c eventually, all the parents \u200cin the book say they discovered that their child&#8217;s \u200btransgender identity wasn&#8217;t as straightforward as it seemed to be.<\/p>\n<p>Social\u2063 confusion, search for belonging, \u200dmental disorders, and\u200d other factors played a\u2064 part for\u200b their children, the parents wrote.<\/p>\n<h2>It&#8217;s Not\u2062 &#8216;Political&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Some politically\u200d liberal parents in the book strongly\u2064 support transgenderism \u200band their children trying on new sexual \u2062identities.<\/p>\n<p>But all the parents in the book said they felt\u200c sure, either right away or eventually, that their children weren&#8217;t transgender, after \u200call.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not an inherently political issue, Josie said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But\u2063 it&#8217;s become political,&#8221; she said. And \u200bit&#8217;s \u2064because &#8220;our\u2063 country is so divided that if one political party takes a\u2064 stance, the other \u200cis going\u200d to do the opposite.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meredith recalled thinking, &#8220;What&#8217;s the big deal?&#8221; when she first\u200b heard news reports about \u2063men\u200c who\u2062 identify as \u200bwomen using \u200dwomen&#8217;s \u200brestrooms.<\/p>\n<p>But \u200cwhen her daughter announced her transgender identity, she knew\u2064 it wasn&#8217;t right, she said.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;Pot of Misery&#8217; at End\u200c of Rainbow<\/h2>\n<p>Often,\u2064 when \u2063children declare themselves transgender, they rewrite their past to\u2063 fit their perceptions,\u2064 parents in \u200dthe PITT book said.<\/p>\n<p>Lydia&#8217;s son revised his entire childhood, she told The \u2062Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>As a little boy, he didn&#8217;t cross-dress, \u2063show interest in stereotypically\u200d feminine activities, or indicate a \u2063transgender\u2063 identity in any\u200b other way, Lydia said.<\/p>\n<p>Now, he often insists \u2063he exhibited feminine\u200d behavior\u200b from\u2063 an early \u2064age.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s absolutely gone back and changed things\u2062 to say, &#8216;See, I\u2063 always felt this way,'&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>In her written\u200b account\u200d in the book, Lydia says \u2063she \u200bgrew \u2062up in a\u200d religious cult. Eventually, she &#8220;logic-ed&#8221; her way \u200dout, \u200dshe said. Currently, \u200dshe works as a scientist.<\/p>\n<p>She&#8217;s alarmed watching\u2064 her son\u2063 enter what \u2063she sees\u200c as\u200d a \u200dsocial movement that\u200b resembles \u2063a &#8220;God-less cult,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Some\u200b stories told in the new\u200b book describe children\u200d severing ties with parents \u200cas they pursue\u2062 sex-change procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Hearing the stories of\u200d other parents was,\u2064 at first, encouraging\u200d and &#8220;incredibly validating,&#8221; \u200bMarie \u2064said.<\/p>\n<p>But eventually, \u2064seeing the number of children identifying as\u200b transgender wore on her, she said, as she \u200cread posts shared \u200don the \u200bPITT group&#8217;s \u200cpages.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I \u2064honestly can&#8217;t even read \u200bthe stories anymore,&#8221; Marie said. &#8220;Can this\u200b madness just stop already?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Andrew \u200dstill identifies\u2062 as transgender, Marie said.\u200c He has dropped\u2062 out\u2062 of college,\u2064 hasn&#8217;t \u2064spoken to his family in months, and\u200d struggles with depression, she\u2064 said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is what happens at the \u2063other end\u200c of the \u200crainbow,&#8221; she said. &#8220;It&#8217;s not a pot of gold. It&#8217;s a pot of\u2064 misery.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hannah\u200b sees a\u200b good therapist now,\u2062 Meredith said. After a long absence, she&#8217;s talking with her \u200bparents again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She hasn&#8217;t \u200dhad\u200b any surgery,&#8221; she said. &#8220;But she\u200d hasn&#8217;t walked away from it. And she&#8217;s still on T. I have hope \u200bthat \u200bshe will walk away.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Josie advises\u2063 parents with children struggling with gender identity not\u2062 to\u2064 leave them alone with other adults,\u200b whether online \u2064or in person.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a family, you can \u200cdo family therapy, but never let your child alone with an \u2062adult,&#8221; she \u200bwarns. &#8220;You don&#8217;t know if they \u2062have nefarious intentions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How did parents in the book &#8220;Parents with \u200dInconvenient Truths about Trans&#8221; feel about their children redefining their identities \u2064and erasing their previous experiences?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  &#8220;female&#8221; \u200cactivities,\u2063 or\u2062 express\u200b any dissatisfaction with his gender. But \u2064after\u2062 coming \u2062out as transgender, he began to claim that \u2064he had always felt like \u2064a \u2062girl trapped \u2062in a \u2063boy&#8217;s body and had exhibited signs of it from a young age.<\/p>\n<p>This \u2064rewriting\u2063 of the\u2064 past is a common theme among parents in the book. They expressed a sense of bewilderment as \u200cthey watched their children \u200credefine their identities and erase their previous experiences.
