he\u200b added enthusiastically.<\/p>\n<p>Woodbury Common attracts millions of visitors \u2064each \u200cyear,\u200c with\u2062 nearly half of them being tourists from outside the region, including a significant number from other countries.<\/p>\n<p>The expansion \u2063plan includes the construction of a new 200-room hotel to accommodate out-of-town visitors \u2063who\u200c wish \u2063to stay overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, \u200bit will introduce over 130,000 square feet of new retail and restaurant spaces, which will be built on an existing\u2063 surface \u2064parking area within the outlet&#8217;s \u2062Niagara district.<\/p>\n<p>To compensate\u2062 for the loss of \u2062surface\u2063 parking spots, a new multi-level parking \u200bgarage will be constructed, providing approximately 1,400 additional parking spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Fox emphasized that these parking changes will enhance \u200cpedestrian safety and improve the\u200c overall experience for visitors.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>The expansion project will also \u2062enhance the landscaping and introduce a new\u200d play area for children.<\/p>\n<h2>Tax and Job Benefits<\/h2>\n<p>Mr.\u2064 Fox revealed\u2064 that the \u2064expansion is expected \u2064to generate an \u2063estimated $20 \u2063million in additional tax revenue annually for the state, local \u2063governments, and other taxing districts\u2062 involved.\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The benefits primarily come from new\u200d property, sales, and hotel taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Among the beneficiaries, the governments of\u2064 New York State and \u200dOrange County will each\u200b receive approximately $8 million in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/survey-shows-bidenomics-means-americans-cant-pay-their-bills\/\" title=\"Survey: Americans Struggle to Pay Bills Under 'Bidenomics'\">additional tax\u2064 revenue<\/a>, followed \u200cby the\u200d Monroe-Woodbury School \u2062district with around $2 million.<\/p>\n<p>The Metropolitan Transportation \u200dAuthority, which \u2063relies on 0.375 percent of sales taxes \u200cgenerated in Orange County to fund its operations, will\u2064 receive \u2063an\u200c extra $700,000.<\/p>\n<p>The Town and Village of Woodbury will also\u200c experience increased revenues of \u2064$570,000 \u2063and $377,000, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Fox,\u200c the\u2064 expansion will create 770 new full-time and part-time jobs on-site, in addition to \u200dthe current employment\u200c of approximately 5,000 \u200dpeople during \u200dpeak\u2062 seasons.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Orange \u2063County Executive Steve Neuhaus, state Sen. \u2062James\u200c Skoufis, state Assemblyman Chris Eachus, \u2063Village \u2063of Woodbury Mayor\u200d Andrew Giacomazza, and Town \u200bof \u2064Woodbury \u2063Supervisor Thomas Burke have all expressed their support\u200d for the expansion.<\/p>\n<h2>Consultant Comments<\/h2>\n<p>Following the\u2064 presentation,\u2063 Kelly\u2063 Naughton, \u200dlegal counsel for the \u2063planning board, suggested that the applicant\u2062 simplify the executive summary by\u200c removing technical jargon, making it\u200d more accessible to the average resident.\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Natalie \u2062Barber, the engineering consultant for the planning board, stated that the applicant needs to provide additional information before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-bidens-overhaul-of-the-federal-oil-and-gas-leasing-program-means\/\" title=\"What Biden\u2019s Overhaul of the Federal Oil and Gas Leasing Program Means\">draft environmental impact statement<\/a> can be reviewed\u2062 publicly.
