In actuality, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/21\/house-republicans-letter-center-for-tech-civic-life-funds-election-mark-zuckerberg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">less than 1 percent<\/a><\/em> of CTCL\u2019s \u200d2020 funds were spent on resources \u2064such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">personal protective equipment<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearinvestigations.com\/articles\/2022\/06\/07\/team_zuckerberg_masks_the_heavily_pro-democrat_tilt_of_2020_election_zuck_bucks_study_finds_835470.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Analysis from election data\u2063 experts<\/a> later determined that the\u2064 funds were \u201cdistributed on a highly partisan basis \u2062that favored Democrats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/10\/12\/the-2020-election-wasnt-stolen-it-was-bought-by-mark-zuckerberg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zuckbucks<\/a>\u201d were also used to advance \u200cunsecured Democrat-backed voting policies, such\u200b as mass unsupervised mail-in voting and the use of ballot drop boxes. Their slanted distribution towards Democrat municipalities, especially in swing states, effectively funded a giant \u200dDemocrat get-out-the-vote operation.<\/p>\n<p>In its September 2022 complaint, CRA <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/22\/irs-must-look-into-tax-breaks-zuckerberg-received-for-2020-election-meddling-complaint-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demanded<\/a> the IRS investigate the entities \u201cfor unlawful political \u2063activity and the receipt\u2064 and \u2064use of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-must-look-into-tax-breaks-zuckerberg-received-for-2020-election-meddling-complaint-says\/\" title=\"IRS Must Look Into Tax Breaks Zuckerberg Received For 2020 Election Meddling, Complaint Says\">improper personal income tax deductions<\/a>\u200d for donations to\u2062 one or \u200cmore of those entities.\u201d CRA also alleged\u200c that \u2063Zuckerberg and \u200bChan \u201creceived \u2018improper tax deductions\u2019 for the\u2063 massive grants to \u2018organizations engaged in conduct \u200cprohibited by \u2064the\u2062 Internal Revenue Code in the 2020 election cycle,&#8217;\u201d and called on the agency to determine whether their actions constituted \u201ctax fraud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As outlined \u2063in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/charities-non-profits\/charitable-organizations\/the-restriction-of-political-campaign-intervention-by-section-501c3-tax-exempt-organizations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Internal Revenue Code<\/a>, donations by charities that are not motivated for altruistic reasons, such as those that attempt \u2063to illicitly assist one party versus another, are explicitly prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>In the \u2064year since filing its complaint, CRA\u2064 hasn\u2019t received answers from the agency on whether it has taken steps to investigate any\u200b of the aforementioned\u200d entities over\u200c the allegations listed in the filing. According to a CRA representative, the IRS has\u200b remained silent on the\u2062 status \u200cof the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe IRS is weaponized against \u200bthe American people and [is] stonewalling anyone asking for accountability or answers,\u201d CRA Policy Director Paige Agostin told\u2063 The\u200c Federalist.<\/p>\n<p>When pressed \u2063for comment on \u2064the status of CRA\u2019s complaint and whether the agency has launched an \u2064investigation into Zuckerberg,\u200d Chan,\u200d or the\u200b listed nonprofits based upon \u200dthe \u2063conservative group\u2019s allegations, IRS spokeswoman Robyn Walker told\u2062 The Federalist, \u201cDue to federal laws, we cannot\u2063 comment\u200b on specific taxpayers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Zuckerberg and Chan have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2022-election\/zuckerberg-money-wont-aid-elections-rcna24002\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indirectly\u200b claimed<\/a> their\u2062 2020 election spending spree \u2063\u201cwas a one-time donation,\u201d CTCL <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techandciviclife.org\/us-alliance-for-election-excellence-launch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revealed<\/a> its plans to interfere \u2064in \u2064future\u2064 elections in April 2022 via the U.S. Alliance for\u200d Election Excellence.\u200b As The Federalist previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/02\/21\/how-georgia-became-democrats-test-site-for-their-2024-private-takeover-of-election-offices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, the Alliance is an <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/20\/inside-democrats-newest-election-takeover-scheme-report-unmasks-dark-money-group-youve-probably-never-heard-of\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$80 million, five-year initiative<\/a> aimed at \u201csystematically \u2062influenc[ing] every aspect of election administration\u201d and advancing Democrat-backed voting policies in local election offices.<\/p>\n<p>In its attempt to replicate \u200bCTCL\u2019s 2020 strategy, the Alliance provides election officials with \u201cscholarships\u201d to cover\u200d Alliance membership costs. These\u200b scholarships are <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/20\/inside-democrats-newest-election-takeover-scheme-report-unmasks-dark-money-group-youve-probably-never-heard-of\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">then<\/a> \u201cinstantly converted into \u2018credits\u2019 that member offices can use to buy services\u2063 from CTCL and \u2063other Alliance partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/article\/states-banning-zuck-bucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">states<\/a> where the acceptance and\u2064 use of \u201cZuckbucks\u201d by \u200blocal election officials is prohibited or restricted, the\u200d Alliance\u2019s strategy is slightly different. As the Honest\u2063 Election Project\u2019s Jason Snead <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/15\/records-missouri-county-used-taxpayer-money-to-join-democrats-private-election-takeover-scheme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">previously told<\/a> \u2063The\u2063 Federalist, \u201cjurisdictions that cannot\u2063 receive \u200dprivate grants can still buy their way\u2064 in for a relatively small sum,\u201d which effectively \u2064permits the Alliance \u201cto spread its influence\u200c even in states where\u200d lawmakers have\u2062 tried to prevent it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While mum on whether it\u2019s probing left-wing nonprofits like CTCL, the IRS seemingly had no problem unlawfully targeting conservative organizations during the Obama administration. Roughly 10 years ago,\u2063 it was <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2023\/05\/10\/its-been-10-years-since-the-irss-tea-party-scandal-will-congress-finally-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revealed<\/a> that the\u2062 IRS intentionally delayed applications for \u201ctax-exempt \u200cstatus from right-of-center organizations\u201d leading up to the 2012 elections. Numbering in the hundreds, these groups were \u201cimproperly subjected to baseless investigations, invasive and improper demands about their donors, and lengthy delays in\u200d processing routine paperwork.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Justice ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-usa-tax-conservative-idUSKBN1CV1TY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">settled<\/a> with dozens of these groups over the scandal\u200b in 2017.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Shawn Fleetwood is a\u2064 staff writer\u200b for The Federalist and a graduate of the University\u2063 of Mary Washington.
