In August, a complaint was filed with the\u200d Federal Election Commission, alleging that the super PAC used its dark money affiliate to conceal some of \u200dthe donors behind its $400 million funding, similar to previous cases that resulted in fines and\u200b criminal convictions for other political activists, as reported by the \u2062 <em>Washington \u200cFree Beacon<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Biden&#8217;s collaboration with Future\u200b Forward, which has been endorsed \u200cby his aides as the leading super PAC supporting his reelection\u2064 campaign, comes less than a year after the president publicly supported a Democratic bill that aimed to eliminate\u200c the influence of dark money \u2064in American democracy. Biden had\u200c previously denounced dark money as a &#8220;serious\u200d problem facing our democracy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, Future Forward\u2062 relies \u2063on dark\u2064 money to sustain its operations. In July, the group claimed to\u200c have \u200craised $50 million\u2064 in the first half of 2023. However, subsequent campaign\u2063 finance \u200bdisclosures revealed that the\u200d majority of these funds were channeled\u2062 to its dark money affiliate, Future Forward USA Action.
