president&#8217;s son?&#8221; \u2062Mr. Johnson \u200cpressed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t believe I\u2062 did,&#8221; Mr. Garland replied.<\/p>\n<p>This response reflects a recurring theme throughout Mr. \u200dGarland&#8217;s hearing,\u2063 where\u2062 he \u2064often claimed a\u2062 lack of awareness\u200d or \u2062referred to\u200c &#8220;ongoing investigations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Since President Joe Biden took office, the DOJ and FBI have faced numerous allegations of \u2064politically \u2062motivated behavior, including\u200d recent \u200bclaims that\u200d they sought to protect Hunter Biden and his family.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Mr. Garland\u2062 firmly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/i-am-not-the-presidents-lawyer-attorney-general-rejects-claims-of-political-meddling-at-doj-5495155?ea_src=frontpage&#038;ea_med=lead-story-0-large-0\" steps&#8221; that \u2062would have been standard in any \u2064other case.<\/p>\n<p>He \u2063also revealed that\u2063 IRS investigators were informed\u2062 by Assistant U.S. \u200cAttorney Lesley Wolf \u200cthat obtaining a \u200dsearch warrant for evidence\u2064 in a \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/top-house-republicans-pledge-investigation-into-irs-whistleblower-allegations\/\" title=\"House GOP Vows Probe Into IRS Whistleblower Claims\">guest house owned<\/a> by\u200c President Biden would never \u200cbe approved due to political considerations.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Hunter Biden&#8217;s attorneys allegedly received &#8220;crucial \u200cinformation&#8221; \u2062about the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In one instance, the attorneys \u2063were reportedly informed that the\u2064 IRS was aware \u200dof documents \u200cstored in \u2064a Northern Virginia storage unit, allowing them \u200dto remove any potentially incriminating evidence before it\u2062 could be\u2062 used against their \u200cclient.<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblowers also claimed that \u2062U.S.\u200c Attorney \u200dDavid Weiss, who was supposed to oversee the investigation into Hunter Biden, was prevented \u200bfrom filing \u200dcharges in both the \u200dDistrict of Columbia and the District Court\u200c of Central\u2063 California.<\/p>\n<p>During\u2064 an October\u2064 7, 2022 meeting, Shapley and Ziegler stated that Weiss \u2064declared \u2062he was \u2062&#8221;not \u200cthe deciding person&#8221; on\u200b whether charges would be brought against the president&#8217;s son, contradicting Mr. Garland&#8217;s repeated assertion that\u2063 Weiss had &#8220;full authority&#8221; over the\u200d case.<\/p>\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>Previous \u200dCharges<\/h2>\n<div class=\"my-5\">When\u200d these allegations came to light, Mr. Garland swiftly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/garland-denies-irs-whistleblower-claims-of-interference-with-biden-case-5353026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denied them<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t know how it would be possible for anybody to block him from bringing a prosecution, given that\u200b he has this authority,&#8221;\u200c Mr. Garland stated. &#8220;I&#8217;d\u2062 say he was given\u2064 complete authority to\u200d make all\u2062 decisions on his own.&#8221;\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Mr.\u2064 Garland \u2064suggested that\u2063 Weiss possessed the same or even greater authority\u200d than the special counsel, who operates independently\u200c from \u200cthe rest of the DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>Shapley and Ziegler recommended three \u200cfelony charges against\u200b Hunter Biden for\u200d failing\u200c to report millions of\u200d dollars \u2063from foreign sources to the IRS.<\/p>\n<p>However, earlier this year, \u2064Weiss brought forth much milder charges against\u200b the president&#8217;s son: two \u2062misdemeanor counts of \u2062willful failure to pay \u2064taxes and a felony\u200b gun charge\u200b that would have\u200d been resolved\u200c through a\u2064 pretrial \u200bagreement.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, this plea agreement\u2063 fell\u2062 apart when U.S. District Judge\u2063 Maryellen Noreika rejected it due to procedural irregularities.<\/p>\n<p>The day after the plea agreement collapsed, Mr. Garland officially appointed Weiss as \u2064the special counsel for Hunter Biden&#8217;s case.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2>1)\u2064 How do the allegations \u2062regarding the \u200bDOJ and FBI&#8217;s \u2063alleged\u200c delay in the investigation and failure to pursue certain leads impact\u200d the integrity and impartiality of If true, \u2064they suggest that the\u2063 agencies may be operating with political motivations, \u200drather than upholding the rule of\u200d law and ensuring justice is served.<\/p>\n<p>During his testimony, Mr. Garland repeatedly emphasized the importance of an independent DOJ that is free from political \u2064interference. He stated that he is committed to ensuring that \u2064the\u2064 DOJ operates with integrity and follows the facts wherever they lead, without regard \u200dfor \u200dpolitical considerations.<\/p>\n<p>However, his \u200cinability \u2062to\u2064 recall whether he discussed the Hunter Biden case\u2064 with the FBI raises questions about \u200dhis awareness and involvement\u200d in the matter. If he did \u2062indeed discuss\u2063 the case, it\u2063 is imperative that he \u200bbe transparent and \u200cforthright about the nature and extent of those discussions.<\/p>\n<p>The American people deserve to have confidence in the DOJ and FBI, \u2063knowing that they are committed to upholding the law and pursuing \u200bjustice \u2064without bias.
