According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-brazil-your-internet-provider-may-be-a-mobster-cops-say\/\" title=\"In Brazil, your internet provider may be a mobster, cops say\">court filings submitted<\/a> in September 2021, the\u2063 patient had \u200caccidentally dropped\u200b five \u200bvitrified embryos.<\/p>\n<p>A Mobile judge rejected the wrongful death and negligence cases in April\u2063 2022,\u2062 claiming that the \u2062Mobile Infirmary and the\u2062 Center for Reproductive Medicine \u2064were \u2063not responsible for\u200d the deaths of the three couples\u2019 frozen \u200dembryos.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>\u201cSaying\u200b that\u200b there\u2019s essentially\u200d an immunity for \u200dthose who destroyed\u200c the embryos\u2064 and that there was no remedy for my client\u2062 for the wrongful\u200d destruction of those embryos,\u201d attorney Brian Duncan said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Two of\u2063 the three \u200bfamilies who brought forward a \u2063case are \u200dbeing represented by Duncan. \u2064Reopening this case, he claimed, raises issues about the definition\u2062 of \u200dwrongful death in Alabama \u2064as well as the beginning of \u2062life.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>\u201cHow far do we really mean that we are going to protect life?\u201d Duncan asked. \u201cDo \u2063we mean that when we say life starts at conception that we\u2019re going\u200c to protect\u2064 all lives wherever they \u2063are located\u2062 whatever size they are and whoever they are?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Justices listened\u200b to oral arguments on \u200dTuesday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>\u201cThis is a new issue,\u201d\u200d said Chief \u200dJustice Tom Parker.\u200c \u201cWe\u2019re really a first in the country to deal with this it looks like. There\u2064 was a\u2064 lot of back and forth, more than normal, because even \u200dthe justices need to get a grip on this issue.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Representatives\u200b of Mobile Infirmary said \u200cthat for an embryo to be \u2062regarded\u2064 as human life, it must be\u2063 within a uterus.<\/p>\n<p>The Alabama\u2064 Medical Association\u2019s Tommy Kenne stated that embryos are not people and\u200b do not possess human \u200crights.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>\u201cThey are human embryos, but they\u200c are\u2064 not human beings,\u201d Kenne\u200b said. \u201cThey\u2019re not\u2063 persons. They don\u2019t have limbs they don\u2019t\u2062 have eyes, ears or noses.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Parker highlighted\u200b a case from\u2062 1960 in which the \u200dAlabama Technological Association declared that life begins \u200cat \u200cconception, but Kenne argued\u200c that this is no longer true given modern technological advancements like\u2064 IVF procedures.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>\u201cBecause they enter in an agreement, and they say \u2063that when they\u2019re excessive embryos, they can be transferred.
