He made the\u200b remarks the night of Jan. 5 and the morning of Jan. 6, videos show.<\/p>\n<p>He was \u2062also\u200c shown on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-todays-boys-could-use-an-old-fashioned-war-movie\/\" title=\"Why Today\u2019s Boys Could Use An Old-Fashioned War Movie\">police bodycam video<\/a> on the west front of the U.S. Capitol as a peacemaker, intervening to prevent protesters from\u200d pushing on\u2063 police \u200cbarricades or \u2062attacking officers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mr.\u2064 Epps\u2019s photograph\u2062 was originally listed as No. \u200b16 \u2064on the \u2064FBI\u2019s Jan.\u2063 6 most-wanted page but was later removed from the site without explanation.<\/p>\n<p>After learning\u2064 his photo was on \u2062the FBI site, Mr. Epps\u2062 called the\u2064 National Threat Operations Center (NTOC)\u2064 on Jan.\u200c 8, 2021, and explained his actions in Washington.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>\u201cI am guilty of being there and probably trespassing,\u201d Mr. Epps said during the 27-minute \u2063phone call, according to \u200crecords obtained in 2022 by The Epoch\u200c Times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I had \u2062a reason. I was \u200btrying \u2064to calm &#8217;em down,\u201d\u200d Mr. Epps\u200b said during \u2062the call. \u201cI wanted\u2063 to \u2064be \u2063there, but I&#8217;m trying to calm &#8217;em down. Anything I\u2063 can do to help.\u200d There&#8217;s no \u200ccall for \u200dthat kind of behavior. I will \u2062be your witness.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Expressed\u200c Regret<\/h2>\n<p>In an interview with FBI agents on March \u20643, 2021, Mr. Epps expressed regret for what he said to \u200bprotesters\u200b at Black Lives Matter\u2064 Plaza the night of \u200dJan. 5. He spoke to \u2062internet\u200c personality Baked Alaska and video\u2064 podcaster Villain Report, both of whom recorded their exchanges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIn fact,\u2063 tomorrow, I don\u2019t even \u2062like to say it because I\u2019ll be \u200darrested. \u2063&#8230; I&#8217;ll say it. We need to go into the\u2063 Capitol,\u201d \u200dMr. Epps told\u200b Baked \u2062Alaska, \u200cwhose legal \u2062name is Anthime\u200b Gionet.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Epps\u200b shouted a similar theme to the crowd \u2064at large: \u201cTomorrow, we need to \u2064go into \u200bthe Capitol. Please \u2063spread the word.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Epps told\u200d the FBI he had planned to stay for all of the speeches at the \u2064Ellipse on \u2064Jan. 6, including that of President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I planned on being\u2064 [there] and\u200b word was being \u2062passed around that \u200bright after he\u2064 gets done speaking, we&#8217;re gonna go \u2062to\u200c the Capitol. And it was a given,&#8221;\u2064 he said. &#8220;So spread the word, spread \u200dthe word. So I \u200dstarted\u2062 spreading the word, and I said that to a lot\u200c of\u2063 people there: &#8216;We&#8217;re going to the Capitol right after \u2062the\u2064 president speaks.\u2019&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Epps was filmed at the first three breaches of police lines at the Capitol on \u2064Jan. 6.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>At the\u2063 first breach point\u200c of police\u2064 lines\u2014roughly 20 minutes before President Trump finished speaking at the Ellipse\u2014an\u2063 aggressive \u2063crowd gathered\u2062 at a lightly\u2063 defended barrier on a sidewalk not far from the Peace Monument on the \u2064Capitol\u2019s west front.<\/p>\n<h2>Present at Breaches<\/h2>\n<p>As the crowd \u200dbegan\u200c yanking at the\u200b police barriers, Mr. Epps pulled Ryan\u2062 Samsel \u200cback from the front line and spoke in his ear.\u200d Seconds after that\u200c exchange, Mr. Samsel and others knocked down the barrier, causing one officer to fall back and hit her \u2063head \u2064on the concrete.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI walked up to him, \u2064and I put my arm\u200d on him\u200b and said, \u2018Hey, that&#8217;s\u2062 not why we&#8217;re here.
