Gov. Newsom announces B plan to reopen schools by spring\">school districts<\/a> across 34 states\u200d and Washington, D.C., according to Nicole \u2062Neily, president of Parents Defending Education, a watchdog group that obtained\u2064 records outlining this funding. A significant portion of these\u200d Communist Party programs operate near\u200b U.S. military bases, giving CCP-affiliated teachers access to student\u200b data.<\/p>\n<p>The amount of money China has spent\u2062 establishing propaganda hubs in \u200bAmerican public and\u2062 private schools is likely far higher, according to Neily, who pointed to State Department and Senate investigations\u200d that found &#8220;hundreds more&#8221; \u2062CCP \u2064programs being run in U.S. classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2062 these Confucius Classrooms\u2014which China presents as\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-infiltrates-public-schools-near-american-military-bases-experts-testify\/\" title=\"Experts testify that China is infiltrating schools near US military bases.\">cultural exchange programs\u2014teachers\u2064 hand-picked<\/a> by the Communist government\u2063 &#8220;are given access\u2064 to district servers and student information,&#8221; Neily testified before \u2063the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. And with many of these programs located near\u2062 U.S. military bases, there are mounting concerns that China is gaining\u200b access to information about American service members\u2019 children.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These\u200b ties raise serious concerns about the safety\u2064 and security of\u200b military children\u200b and\u200b secrets,&#8221; Rep. Aaron \u2063Bean (R., Fla.), the\u200b committee\u2019s chairman, said in his opening remarks. &#8220;The CCP&#8217;s\u2064 presence near our bases\u200b can be\u2064 seen as a direct attempt to target and influence these vulnerable populations, potentially compromising our national security in the process.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>China runs\u2064 these programs in a manner that prevents school administrators and parents from understanding what their children are being \u200dtaught, Neily said during her\u200d testimony.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Parents and administrators do not know what curriculum is being used in\u2063 the classroom and must defer to\u200d teachers who\u2062 are\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ex-natsec-official-evidence-for-theory-that-pandemic-came-from-lab-far-outweighs-natural-outbreak\/\" title=\"Ex-NatSec Official: Evidence For Theory That Pandemic Came From Lab \u2018Far Outweighs\u2019 Natural Outbreak\">hand selected<\/a> and \u200dvetted by the PRC,&#8221; she said. &#8220;As parents\u200b we deserve\u200d to know \u200cwhether hostile nations are pumping \u2062propaganda into our \u200dchildren\u2019s heads.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Confucius Classrooms are a public-school version of Confucius Institutes, Chinese-backed educational programs that primarily operate on college campuses. While Congress and the federal government have cracked down on\u2064 Confucius Institutes\u2014by slashing federal funding to schools that host\u2063 them\u2014Confucius Classrooms operate with impunity and little oversight.<\/p>\n<p>Neily and \u2063other experts \u2062who testified before\u2063 the committee urged Congress to step \u2062up its oversight of\u200d these programs and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wash-state-rep-introduces-bill-to-ban-public-schools-from-having-native-american-mascots\/\" title=\"Wash. state rep. introduces bill to ban public schools from having Native American mascots\">ban public schools<\/a> from entering into contracts with all CCP-controlled entities and nonprofits.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Confucius Classrooms \u2062are strategically located \u200caround U.S. military bases,&#8221;\u2064 Bean said, citing a recent \u2064report\u2063 on the\u200d matter.<\/p>\n<p>In one case, the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, an elite charter school in Fairfax, Va., partnered with &#8220;Chinese military schools \u2018supervised\u2019 by the Chinese defense industry, like Tsinghua University, to develop academic programming,&#8221; according\u200d to Bean.<\/p>\n<p>These types of\u200b partnerships are much more common than most American parents know, according to \u2063Bean and the \u2062expert witnesses who \u200dtestified.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Through programs such as Confucius\u200d Classrooms \u200dwe are allowing\u200c a hostile, foreign, anti-democratic government\u200d a foothold into our \u200cschools,&#8221; said Ryan Walters, a superintendent of public \u2063instruction with the Oklahoma State Department of Education.<\/p>\n<p>Walters, in his testimony, outlined how \u2063the Tulsa public school district has\u2064 entered into lucrative contracts with CCP-controlled nonprofit groups.<\/p>\n<p>The Republican-controlled House committee promised the experts Congress would step up its investigations into Confucius Classroom programs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This \u2062blatant attempt\u200d to inject foreign ideologies into our schools undermines the fundamental purpose of American education,&#8221; Bean said. &#8220;It\u200c goes without saying, we\u200d should be teaching American values in American schools.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What actions does Neily call for to protect children and the integrity of the\u200d education \u200bsystem from \u2063foreign propaganda<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Ildren&#8217;s \u2064heads.<\/p>\n<p>Neily also raised concerns about the content being taught in these Confucius \u200dClassrooms, noting that\u2062 the Chinese Communist Party&#8217;s version of history and culture is heavily biased and promotes their\u200d own \u200dagenda.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The curriculum \u200bin these CCP-run programs often \u2064includes\u2063 distorted versions of\u2062 history and\u200d teachings that\u200b present\u200b the Chinese Communist Party in a positive light,&#8221; Neily explained. &#8220;This is not a true \u200bcultural exchange but rather a method\u200d of indoctrination, where American children are being taught to view China through the lens of the Communist Party.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She emphasized the \u2064importance of transparency and called\u2063 for greater scrutiny and regulation of these programs, particularly those operating\u200b near military bases.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We must\u2064 act swiftly \u200dto protect our children and the integrity of our education system,&#8221; Neily asserted. &#8220;Our\u200b government \u2064and school districts must\u200d have a full understanding\u200d of what is being taught in these classrooms, and\u200c parents must have the\u2063 ability to \u2064opt out if they are concerned about the influence of foreign\u2062 propaganda on their children.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Neily&#8217;s testimony was \u2064met with bipartisan support, with \u200clawmakers from both sides of the aisle\u200b expressing deep\u200c concern over China&#8217;s infiltration of American classrooms and its potential impact on national security.
