Joan Bell, Jean Marshall,\u200d and Jonathan\u200b Darnel now face the possibility of more than a decade in prison and a \u200dhefty $350,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>A federal jury found them guilty of felony conspiracy against rights and \u2063violating the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, also known as the FACE Act. This is part of a larger assault on pro-lifers \u200cby the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration\u200d wasted no time \u200bin targeting \u200cpro-life activists, and last year, they began a series of arrests. At the heart of their campaign against \u2063the First Amendment rights of pro-lifers is the FACE Act, a law that imposes harsh penalties on those who supposedly obstruct or accost women seeking abortions.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Justice accused the three activists of conspiring to create\u200c a &#8220;blockade&#8221; at an abortion clinic in Washington D.C. According \u2062to\u2064 evidence presented at trial, Marshall and\u200d Bell forcefully entered the clinic and used their bodies, furniture, chains, and ropes to block two clinic doors. Meanwhile, Darnel live-streamed\u2063 their activities on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The verdict devastated supporters of the three\u2064 activists. With a maximum sentence of 11 years each, these women could \u200cpotentially spend the rest of their lives in prison for their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dr-oz-raises-eyebrows-swearing-to-defend-the-sanctity-of-life\/\" title=\"Dr. Oz Raises Eyebrows Swearing To \u2018Defend The Sanctity Of Life\u2019\">pro-life beliefs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After\u2063 the verdict\u2062 was\u200d rendered, Joan Bell made a powerful statement by removing her red shirt to reveal a\u200d bright yellow \u2064shirt with the words &#8220;Pro Life&#8221; written on it. Jonathan Darnel gave a wave \u200cbefore being escorted out. Jean Marshall, who \u200chad a doctor&#8217;s note stating she was scheduled for a hip \u2062replacement, was denied \u2063house arrest\u2063 and taken away with\u2064 the others.<\/p>\n<p>While these activists await sentencing, it is important to note that the Biden administration \u200bhas treated pro-lifers worse than actual terrorists. Late last year, former Fox News host \u200dTucker Carlson criticized the administration for raiding the \u2063home of pro-life activist Paul Vaughn, comparing it to\u2063 the lack of action against leftists who have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pro-life-women-in-their-70s-found-guilty-of-felony-after-protesting-at-dc-abortion-clinic\/\" title=\"Elderly Pro-Life Women Convicted for Protesting at DC Abortion Clinic\">fire-bombed pro-life pregnancy crisis centers<\/a> across the \u200bcountry.<\/p>\n<p>Since May of 2022, there have been nearly\u200c 90 incidents of attacks on Christian-led\u200d pregnancy crisis centers, coinciding with \u2064the leak of the Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling in the Dobbs case that overturned Roe v. \u200bWade. However, the testimony of Bell, Marshall, and Darnel\u200c painted a different picture.<\/p>\n<p>They maintained that they were peacefully exercising their right to protest and peacefully speak out against the\u200b horrors of abortion. They \u2064asserted that their intent\u200b was never \u2063to obstruct \u2062or harass, but \u2063rather to \u200beducate \u2062and\u200c provide support\u200c to\u2064 women\u2064 who may be considering an abortion.<\/p>\n<p>The actions of these pro-life \u2064women are not indicative of radicalism or hatred, as the prosecution would have the public believe. Instead, they are the actions of individuals who\u2062 deeply value human life and are dedicated to advocating for\u200b the rights of the unborn.<\/p>\n<p>It is a sad\u2063 day when elderly women who have dedicated their lives\u2064 to the\u200c cause of protecting innocent lives \u2062are treated as\u200c criminals. \u200bJoan\u200d Bell,\u2062 Jean Marshall, and Jonathan Darnel are not criminals;\u200c they are heroes. They put their\u2062 own \u200cfreedom and well-being on the line to fight\u2064 for what they believe in.<\/p>\n<p>Their \u200dconviction\u200b not only sets\u200c a dangerous precedent for the \u200dsuppression of free\u200b speech, but it \u2064also sends a chilling message to others who may consider\u2062 speaking out against abortion. \u2062It sends a message \u200dthat dissenting\u2064 voices\u2062 will \u200cnot be \u200dtolerated and \u200dthat \u200bthe government will go to great lengths to \u2063silence \u200bthem.<\/p>\n<p>The targeting of \u2063these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/merck-posts-narrower-than-expected-loss-as-sales-of-top-drugs-beat-street-estimates\/\" title=\"Merck's loss is smaller than expected, with top drug sales surpassing Street estimates.\">pro-life \u2062advocates<\/a> is just one example of\u200d the Biden administration&#8217;s assault\u2063 on the rights of those who\u2063 hold \u2062pro-life views. \u2062From attempting to codify Roe v. Wade into law to rescinding the Mexico City Policy, the current administration has made it \u200bclear \u200dthat \u200bthey \u2062have \u200clittle regard for the sanctity of life.<\/p>\n<p>It is important\u2064 that\u200b Americans stand\u200d up and demand justice for \u2064Joan Bell, Jean Marshall, and Jonathan Darnel.\u2062 Their case must be appealed, and their conviction overturned. \u200bThe right to\u2064 peacefully protest and\u2062 speak out against abortion\u2062 is a fundamental part of our\u2063 democracy, and it must be protected.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, we \u200cmust\u200d continue to support and \u200dstand alongside pro-life advocates\u2064 who \u200bdedicate their lives to protecting the unborn. These individuals should be commended for their bravery and commitment to defending the most vulnerable\u2062 among us.<\/p>\n<p>In a society \u200cthat\u200c claims to value diversity and inclusivity, it is disheartening to see pro-life women in their 70s facing such harsh penalties \u200bfor exercising their First Amendment rights.
