Only less than 1 percent of homicides are of\u2064 the\u200b mass shooting variety, and \u200beven fewer occur in schools. Would Welker frame school shootings as unimportant or unworthy of further policy discussion? After all, no Republican is \u201ctalking about\u201d shooting up schools.<\/p>\n<p>It is true \u2062that \u200clate-term abortions \u2062make up about 1\u2063 percent of the total, which is to say around 10,000 viable humans\u2064 are being aborted at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/2021\/06\/23\/premature-baby-survive-birthday-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">21 weeks<\/a> or older each year every year. Well, \u201conly\u201d 10,000, apparently.<\/p>\n<p>And if Democrats aren\u2019t \u201ctalking about that\u201d then how is it that\u2063 \u201call-trimester\u201d abortion clinics are operating in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/09\/01\/1120124723\/an-all-trimester-abortion-clinic-prepares-to-open-in-maryland-one-of-few-nationa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maryland<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/lifestyle\/a41558326\/partners-in-abortion-care-clinic-all-trimesters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">elsewhere<\/a>? Why is Warren Hern as \u2063busy as ever in \u200chis Boulder\u2063 chop\u200c shop \u2014 where he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2023\/05\/dr-warren-hern-abortion-post-roe\/674000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admits<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/of-course-democrats-support-abortion-on-demand-until-the-moment-of-birth\/\" title=\"Democrats unequivocally support a woman's right to choose abortion throughout pregnancy.\">performing late-term abortions<\/a> on perfectly healthy\u200c women \u2064and babies? As we know, <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/the-reality-of-late-term-abortion-procedures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most<\/a> late-term abortions are, like others, not\u200c induced in a \u201cstate \u200cof crisis\u201d but used as a form of birth control.<\/p>\n<p>Hern operates in Colorado, where the abortion of\u2064 viable unborn children is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2022\/04\/the-most-radical-abortion-law-in-the-nation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">legal<\/a>, for any reason, until crowning. The law goes on to praise the \u201csocial,\u2064 moral, and economic benefits\u201d of having abortions. It \u2062does not even mention viability, like <em>Casey<\/em> and <em>Roe<\/em> did, but rather strips the baby of any \u201cindependent or derivative rights under \u200dthe laws of the state\u201d at any time during the pregnancy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-89560443d2df522d9cd01acb446b14ef fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-89560443d2df522d9cd01acb446b14ef\"><\/div>\n<p>Moreover, Welker\u2019s claim that Democrats \u201cwrit\u200c large\u201d are not arguing \u200dfor stripping limits is objectively false. \u2064Only two Democrats in Congress <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/20\/media-activists-wont-grill-democrats-on-unpopular-abortion-extremism-because-they-agree-with-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">voted<\/a> against a federal bill that would not only allow \u200dall post-viability abortions \u200bwith the approval of a \u201chealth-care provider\u201d\u200d \u2014 it doesn\u2019t have to be a doctor \u2014 if it \u201cwould pose a risk\u201d to the patient\u2019s life or \u201chealth,\u201d which includes <em>any<\/em> mental health problem, carte blanche for unlimited abortion.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that Democrats are also <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/02\/26\/senate-vote-born-alive-infants-proves-democrats-arent-pro-choice-theyre-pro-infanticide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">opposed<\/a> to compelling doctors to provide infants who <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/heres-what-you-missed-on-twitter-this-week-vol-7\/\" title=\"Here\u2019s What You Missed on Twitter This Week, Vol. 7\">survive attempted abortions<\/a><\/em> the minimum amount of care they\u200b would be expected to provide any other person.<\/p>\n<p>So, yes, they are very much <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1582118811154747392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arguing<\/a> for \u201cthat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow is it acceptable in\u2062 America \u2063that women\u2019s lives are at risk,\u201d Welker begged the question, \u201cthat doctors are being forced to turn away patients in need, or risk breaking the law?\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b57fff55ec05cf02de2a46fde88a9c3f fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b57fff55ec05cf02de2a46fde88a9c3f\"><\/div>\n<p>This does not \u200dhappen. There is\u2064 no such force. There is no such policy. Every state law restricting abortion offers explicit exceptions for the life or physical health of \u200dthe mother. No one wants\u200b to put mothers in danger. Though a number of activists contend otherwise for political reasons \u2014 Welker, who showed a complete lack of journalistic skepticism, parroted those claims \u2014 \u2064they are untrue.<\/p>\n<p>Even the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.fl.us\/statutes\/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&#038;URL=0300-0399\/0390\/Sections\/0390.0111.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">six-week \u200bFlorida restriction<\/a> \u2062 that Trump called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/09\/17\/trump-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">terrible<\/a>\u201d \u2014 he\u2019s very wrong about that \u2014 legalizes abortion up to 15 weeks in cases of rape, incest, or human trafficking, and allows abortion even later in cases of \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/north-carolina-governor-vetoes-12-week-abortion-ban\/\" title=\"NC Governor rejects 12-week abortion ban.\">fatal fetal abnormalities<\/a> \u200dor whenever the mother\u2019s life or serious physical health is at risk.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to abortion, the media engage in a pedantic parsing of the left\u2019s position. Since Democrats aren\u2019t \u200caffirmatively proposing women seek out late-term abortions \u200b\u2014 no one is \u201ctalking about that,\u201d\u2063 says Welker \u2014 one\u200d can\u2019t claim that they support the practice. This is a ridiculous standard. It would be tantamount to arguing that Republicans don\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-is-right-democrats-support-no-limits-on-abortion\/\" title=\"Trump is correct: Democrats back unrestricted abortion.\">support violent felons owning fully automatic weapons<\/a> after proposing to strip every restriction of firearm \u200bownership. It\u2019s completely dishonest.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> Is it\u2062 misleading to frame late-term abortions as only 1 percent of\u200b total cases?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Debunking Deceptive Claims About Abortion<\/p>\n<p>In a recent interview with Donald Trump, Kristen Welker, the new host of &#8220;Meet the Press,&#8221;\u200b made several deceitful assertions regarding \u2062abortion. When the GOP presidential candidate argued that Democrats don&#8217;t\u2063 support any \u2064limitations on the procedure, Welker\u2064 responded by claiming that Democrats are not talking about late-term \u2063abortions happening after\u2063 birth, citing \u2062that only\u200d 1 percent of late-term abortions occur, and always in a state\u2063 of crisis.<\/p>\n<p>However, framing the issue as only 1 \u200bpercent of cases is\u2063 misleading. Most late-term abortions are not induced in a state of crisis but rather used as a form of birth control.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Hern operates in Colorado, where the abortion of viable unborn children is legal \u2063for any\u2062 reason until crowning. \u2062The law in Colorado \u200bpraises \u2063the &#8220;social, moral, and economic benefits&#8221; of having abortions and strips the unborn child of any rights at \u200bany time during the pregnancy, disregarding viability as a\u2062 factor.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to Welker&#8217;s claim, Democrats, &#8220;writ large,&#8221; are indeed arguing for stripping limits\u2064 on abortion.
