Quiqley’s statement comes amidst the⁣ resistance from residents in ⁢major U.S. cities like⁢ Chicago, ‌New York City, and‍ Washington ⁤D.C.,⁤ who oppose receiving migrants transported from the Southern border. Republican governors ‍have employed this‍ tactic to draw President Joe Biden’s attention and secure the border. Quiqley argues that migrants have⁤ been instrumental in shaping⁣ the ⁣nation’s current state.

Democrats’ ⁤Reluctance to Defend Harris Ahead of 2024

“Without migrants, where⁣ would we be?” Quiqley passionately expressed during an interview with MSNBC⁣ on‌ Saturday. “This economy ‌and labor market‍ heavily rely on migrants. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass recently ‍expressed her ⁤apprehension that⁣ the city may soon‌ be overwhelmed by more immigrants than ‍it‍ can handle. Similarly, New York ⁤City Mayor‍ Eric Adams warned that the ⁢city’s escalating migrant ‍situation ⁤could potentially “ruin” it. Adams criticized the‌ lack of support from the White House in ‍managing the growing number ⁢of migrants and referred to Gov. Greg Abbott ‌(R) as a “madman” for sending illegal immigrants⁤ to sanctuary cities via buses.

In response to the ‍criticism from Adams and other Democratic mayors, Gov. ‌Abbott condemned their comments as “outrageous” and highlighted the failure of sanctuary city policies, emphasizing that “letting⁤ everybody live for free” simply does not work.

Rep. Mike Quiqley emphasized during a recent address. As a Democratic Congressman representing Illinois, Quiqley understands the vital role that immigrants play‌ in driving the‍ United States’ economy, despite the resistance faced from certain residents.

In major ‌U.S. cities such as Chicago, New ⁢York City, and Washington D.C., opposition has arisen against receiving migrants⁤ transported from the Southern border. Republican⁢ governors, in their attempt to draw President Joe Biden’s attention and‍ secure the border, have employed this tactic. However, Quiqley firmly believes that immigrants ⁣have played‍ a crucial role ⁤in shaping the nation’s current state and should not be ⁢seen as a ⁢burden or threat.

To ⁢begin with, ⁢immigrants have always been an essential component of America’s economic‌ growth and prosperity. They contribute to‍ various sectors, including agriculture, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing, among others. Through their labor and entrepreneurial spirit, immigrants have played a significant role in boosting productivity and expanding industries. Their‍ hard work, skills,⁤ and diversity bring innovation and fresh perspectives⁢ that contribute⁣ to the overall development ⁤of the ⁤nation’s economy.

Furthermore, immigrants are ⁤not‍ just contributors but also consumers. They boost consumer demand, leading to increased ⁣economic activity and job⁣ creation.‌ As they establish their lives in the ‌United States,‍ immigrants contribute to the housing market, retail sectors, and local businesses, stimulating ⁤economic growth within their communities.

Moreover, immigrants’ ⁤contribution extends beyond the ‌economic sector. They enrich American society and‌ culture by bringing their⁤ unique⁢ traditions, customs, and languages. The diversity that immigrants bring allows for cross-cultural interactions ‍and exchange of ideas, fostering innovation and creativity. This cultural diversity enables the United States to lead globally in various fields, including arts, entertainment, and academia.

Despite these clear benefits, there remains a narrative that⁣ immigrants take away job opportunities from American citizens and‌ burden ⁤public resources. However, multiple⁤ studies and expert opinions have debunked these myths. According to the National Academies of ⁤Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, immigrants have a ⁣positive impact ‍on the ⁤long-run economic growth⁢ of⁢ the United States. They complement the native-born workforce by taking‍ on different roles and ⁢filling labor market gaps.

To ensure the nation’s continued economic growth and prosperity, it is crucial⁣ to ‌recognize ‌and⁣ appreciate the contributions immigrants make. It‍ is through embracing diversity and inclusivity that the United⁢ States can⁤ remain ⁢competitive ⁢in the global economy.⁢ Quiqley urges his fellow ⁤lawmakers‌ and residents to shift the narrative towards ⁢one that highlights the importance and positive impact of immigrants.

In conclusion, Rep. Mike Quiqley acknowledges the invaluable role immigrants play in driving the United States’ economy. Their contributions extend beyond ‌economic aspects and encompass cultural enrichment and ‌innovation. It is ‌essential to recognize the positive impact immigrants ‍have had ‍throughout history ⁢and work towards⁤ creating an inclusive society that values‍ their contributions.

Democratic Congressman Rep.
