Matt Gaetz&#8217;s (R-FL) plan to remove House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), urging him \u2062to follow through with his threat. However, Mace remained tight-lipped about her own stance on voting to remove McCarthy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It hasn&#8217;t happened yet, and I am not going \u2062to comment on conjecture here. Either he is going to file it, or he&#8217;s not. If\u200c he&#8217;s going to do it, put his money where \u2063his mouth is,&#8221; Mace boldly stated during her appearance on ABC&#8217;s This Week.<\/p>\n<h3>Gaetz Doubles Down on Efforts to Remove McCarthy<\/h3>\n<p>Gaetz, a key figure\u200c in the unsuccessful campaign to prevent McCarthy from becoming speaker, has intensified his efforts to gather support for McCarthy&#8217;s\u2063 removal this week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re either going to get compliance, or \u200bwe&#8217;re going to start having votes on motions to vacate,\u200b and we&#8217;re gonna have it regularly,&#8221; Gaetz confidently declared to reporters. &#8220;I don&#8217;t anticipate them passing immediately. But if we have to begin every \u200csingle day in Congress with the prayer, the pledge, and the motion to vacate, then so be it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mace Shares Gaetz&#8217;s Disappointment in McCarthy<\/p>\n<p>Mace echoed Gaetz&#8217;s sentiments, expressing her disappointment \u200din McCarthy&#8217;s failure to fulfill certain promises \u2063he made as speaker.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ll see how it\u200c turns \u2063out, \u2064but I will tell you, I&#8217;m one of those members who were made certain promises,&#8221; Mace revealed. \u200d&#8221;I&#8217;ve worked on women&#8217;s issues.\u2064 I&#8217;ve worked on issues related to gun violence, that I feel are very important. And\u200b you know, it&#8217;s fallen on deaf ears.
