His trial is scheduled for July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In his\u2064 motion, Mr. \u2064Pope \u2063revealed that MPD officers made a traffic stop on Jan. \u20626 and encountered three\u200d Antifa operatives: Jonathan Kelly, Logan Grimes,\u2062 and Dempsey Mikula.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>&#8220;Undercover officers who stopped their\u2062 vehicle said they had received reports that the individuals were carrying weapons,&#8221; Mr. \u200cPope wrote. &#8220;No footage of this\u2062 incident has been produced by the government in discovery. However, Kelly <a href=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/v3hqo5c-exhibit-5-undercover-mpd-detain-antifa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">live-streamed<\/a> part \u2064of the\u200b police stop \u2063to Facebook.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/09\/15\/id5492372-Undercover_Traffic_Antifa-1200x517.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mr. Kelly \u200drefused a vehicle search, \u2063prompting the officers to call for \u2064a\u200c dog to sniff for contraband.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A little over ten minutes into Kelly&#8217;s livestream, a team of uniformed MPD officers arrived to replace the undercover police,&#8221; Mr.\u2064 Pope explained. &#8220;These officers wore body cameras and instructed Kelly, Grimes, and Mikula\u2063 to exit the vehicle\u200d while they waited for the dog.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the undercover officers involved in the \u200dtraffic stop \u2062were identified as members of MPD&#8217;s \u200bElectronic Surveillance Unit \u200b(ESU), which had a presence \u200cat the Capitol on Jan. \u20646.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Nearly \u200c30 ESU members were assigned to duty that day, according to the MPD&#8217;s 96-page Jan. 6 action plan. They wore a\u2064 special band\u2063 on their left wrist to identify themselves as part of the\u200c unit. <strong>&#8216;We Are Antifa&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The trio of Antifa adherents <a href=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/v3hqlqg-exhibit-3-kelly-grimes-and-mikula-sing-we-are-antifa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">created a video<\/a> of themselves singing &#8220;We are\u200b Antifa&#8221; during their drive from Michigan to Washington for the \u200bJan. 6 events, as\u2064 shown in a video exhibit filed by Mr. Pope.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to Mr. Pope, Metropolitan Police arrested Mr. Grimes for carrying a pistol without \u200ca\u200b license and possessing a high-capacity \u2062magazine and unregistered \u200cammunition.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of Justice has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/9-year-old-girl-pepper-sprayed-during-interaction-with-rochester-police\/\" title=\"9-Year-Old Girl Pepper Sprayed During Interaction With Rochester Police\">released body camera footage<\/a> from the officer who transported Mr. Grimes from the scene of the arrest to the booking\u200d facility, but recordings\u200c from other officers\u2064 involved in \u200cthe stop and\u200d arrest have been withheld.<\/p>\n<p>Charges against Mr. Grimes were dropped on Jan. 7, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This lack of prosecution compared to other January 6 cases and the government&#8217;s withholding of information about\u200d the ESU officers involved in the Antifa car stop and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/antifa-discussed-plans-to-firebomb-federal-buildings-jan-6-court-filing-contends\/\" title=\"Court filing alleges Antifa planned to firebomb federal buildings on Jan. 6.\">body camera recordings demonstrates intentional concealment<\/a> of information about this\u200d Antifa seditious conspiracy,&#8221; Mr. Pope argued. &#8220;Such information is exculpatory in my case.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\" style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:2100px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"aligncenter\"><figcaption>Antifa supporters Logan \u2063(aka Leslie) Grimes and Dempsey Mikula\u200b (right) \u200dlook on while police search the vehicle in which they were riding on Jan. 6, 2021. They discussed\u200c looking up blueprints for \u2064federal buildings\u2064 to firebomb and \u2064shared tactical plans for attacking police lines using a Roman legion formation, according to Mr. Pope.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>&#8220;Kelly and Grimes were clearly\u200b conspiring with John Sullivan using \u2064Sullivan&#8217;s online server,&#8221; Mr. Pope stated. &#8220;On December 29, 2020, John\u2063 Sullivan posted \u200can image of firearms and tactical gear on his Antifa server along with the message: &#8216;Civil War and Revolution.&#8217; Discord \u200bServer Coordination<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Pope believes that MPD undercover video and\u200c officer \u2062bodycam footage could \u2063provide further evidence of communication and coordination between Mr. Sullivan and Antifa operatives.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This\u2062 makes all ESU \u2062recordings \u200band bodycam recordings of Sullivan, Kelly, Grimes,\u2063 Mikula, and any \u200cother\u2064 conspiring Antifa relevant \u2062to my defense, and the government has a Brady obligation to produce all such recordings and any other related materials in \u2063discovery,&#8221; Mr. Pope argued. &#8220;This also further justifies my request for the court to grant my\u2064 motion to compel the government to produce all ESU \u200drecordings and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/must-be-dismantled-ben-jerrys-attacks-americas-police-system\/\" title=\"\u2018Must Be Dismantled\u2019: Ben &#038; Jerry\u2019s Attacks America\u2019s Police System\">body-worn camera footage<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On \u200cJan.\u2063 6, Mr. Sullivan exclaimed, &#8220;This is a revolution, mother[expletives], let&#8217;s go, we taking this [expletive]!&#8221; After breaking\u200b through \u200dpolice lines, he declared, &#8220;This [expletive] is\u200b ours&#8221; and called for \u2063others to join him.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Kelly, wearing a gas mask and carrying a baseball \u2064bat, was the \u2062last person on the southwest scaffolding at the Capitol and had to be removed by police.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\" style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"aligncenter\"><figcaption>Protesters clash with police on the west front\u2062 of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as shown on a CCTV exterior Rotunda camera. Mr. \u200cKelly even asked his Antifa co-conspirators \u2064if he should &#8220;start blasting [expletive] Donald Trump\u200c on my\u200d megaphone,&#8221; indicating their objective to cause \u2063chaos on Jan. 6,\u2064 2021.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/court-urged-to-penalize-facebook-parent-company-over-24-million\/\" title=\"Court Urged to Penalize Facebook Parent Company Over  Million\">previous court filings<\/a>, Mr. Pope revealed how an undercover MPD officer \u2064assisted protesters in climbing over barricades and encouraged\u200b them to continue towards the Capitol.
