This is shameful \u2062and a clear example of\u200d our nation\u2019s decline. American civic \u200ceducation no longer exists, and \u2062national pride continues to plummet as we\u200b witness\u200b an unprecedented \u200dassault on\u200d the Constitution. Every American should\u2062 realize that the Constitution\u2019s demise will inevitably lead to \u200cthe fall of the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Importance of\u200b Our Constitution<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Despite our\u200d nation\u2019s youth, America possesses the world\u2019s\u2064 oldest codified Constitution. \u200bUnlike other constitutions, \u2062it \u2063curtails \u2063governmental power and champions the interests of <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We \u200bthe People<\/span><\/i>  by explicitly safeguarding our God-given liberties. Our Constitution is much more than just a document, it embodies a way of life with the central theme that the \u2062government exists to serve the\u2062 people.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>A Disturbing Lack of Constitutional\u2063 Knowledge<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As Americans, \u200dwe should be concerned that\u200b a \u200bstaggering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=20178\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">90%\u200b of my students<\/span><\/a>  are unable to distinguish between\u200c the American Constitution and\u200d the Russian Constitution after at least 13 years of schooling. But it\u2019s \u2062not only my students. I\u200d suspect the results \u200dwouldn\u2019t be \u200bmuch different if I ran this exercise with \u200cthe general public, especially considering that nationwide only \u206322% \u2062of \u2064students <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationsreportcard.gov\/civics\/results\/scores\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">demonstrate<\/span><\/a>  proficiency \u200din civics and \u200conly 13%\u200d in American history.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The\u200c Consequences of Constitutional Ignorance<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/when-our-elected-officials-undermine-the-constitution-its-time-to-defend-it\/\" title=\"Defend the Constitution when officials undermine it.\">failed education \u200dsystem<\/a>\u2062 has led to Constitutional \u2062ignorance throughout our\u2062 society. This is why\u200b so many elected and appointed officials \u200b\u2013 entrusted to uphold the Constitution \u2013 have flagrantly undermined it. For\u200b example, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan \u2064Grisham has\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2023\/09\/10\/new-mexicos-governor-suspends-the-right-to-bear-arms-saying-the-second-amendment-is-not-absolute\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">declared<\/span><\/a>  \u200d that\u2063 our Constitutional rights are not \u2064absolute as\u2063 she unilaterally\u2064 attempts to suspend the Second \u2064Amendment\u200b in the name of an emergency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Furthermore, throughout the COVID \u2064pandemic,\u2062 the government controlled when you could\u2062 leave your\u200d home\u200d and where you\u200b could go.\u2064 The government decided when, where,\u2063 and \u200dhow you \u200bcould practice your faith. \u2063When you could\u200c work. What \u2064you\u200d were allowed to \u2062say.\u2064 Who you\u200b could associate with. Livelihoods were\u200b threatened and destroyed. State legislative \u2064bodies, those elected\u2063 to \u200drepresent the people, were bypassed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy was asked whether \u200bthe Bill of Rights was ever considered when he implemented his pandemic\u200d decrees, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/tucker-carlson-phil-murphy-bill-of-rights\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">responded<\/span><\/a>  \u2064 that it was \u201cabove \u200chis \u2064pay grade,\u201d despite\u200b the oath \u2063he took\u2062 to uphold the Constitution. Decisions\u200d were made by chief\u200c executives and a handful of people \u200bconsidered \u201cexperts,\u201d which is the\u200c very definition of authoritarianism.\u200c President Biden even declared that his administration\u2019s \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=p7chQfQ67SM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cpatience was wearing thin<\/span><\/a>\u201d with the American \u2064people when many refused to get the vaccine.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Reversing \u2064the Trend<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This \u2063Constitutional ignorance is the main reason why\u2063 so many \u2062Americans supported, \u2062and some even encouraged, the government\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tesla-dubs-elon-musk-its-technoking-in-new-sec-filings\/\" title=\"Tesla Dubs Elon Musk Its \u2018Technoking\u2019 In New SEC Filings\">heavy-handed approach<\/a>. We have been conditioned \u200cto turn to the government to \u201csolve\u201d\u2062 every problem, and it took nearly two\u2064 years before the majority of the American people \u200dwould declare \u2064that they \u200care done with the mandates. However, history\u200d has shown\u200b that when power is\u200d transferred to the government, the power rarely returns to the people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The\u200d good \u2064news is,\u200d we can reverse this trend,\u2063 starting with \u2064our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sarah-huckabee-sanders-unveils-platform-for-2022-ark-governor-race\/\" title=\"Sarah Huckabee Sanders unveils platform for 2022 Ark. governor race\">education system<\/a>. We \u200bhave \u200dto revive a robust American civic education throughout the K-12 system\u200d that focuses on the Constitution, core American values such as freedom and equality, as \u200bwell as teach students what it means to be an informed and engaged citizenry. Additionally, colleges\u2062 need\u200d to prioritize\u200c critical thinking and provide an accurate portrayal of\u200d the Constitution, rather\u2064 than indoctrinate the\u2063 student body with the falsehood that many of our \u2063problems stem from\u200c the Constitution itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>A Call to Action<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Second,\u2062 all Americans should forcefully speak out \u200bto defend \u200bour founding document, which changed the course of human civilization,\u200c and\u200c served\u2062 as the inspiration behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/about-us\/universal-declaration-of-human-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Universal Declaration of Human Rights<\/span><\/a>. \u200bThis\u2062 proactive approach will ensure that the Constitution\u2063 will survive for the future generation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This \u2063Constitution Day,\u2062 I encourage everyone to read\u200d this remarkable document. Parents should\u2064 read it with \u2062their children and teachers should read it with their students. \u200bIt is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reaganlibrary.gov\/reagans\/ronald-reagan\/time-choosing-speech-october-27-1964\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A Time \u2063for Choosing<\/span><\/i><\/a>.
