On Thursday, \u2063190 House Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/Votes\/2023391\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voted against<\/a> the &#8220;Preserving Choice \u2064in Vehicle Purchases Act,&#8221; a bill that would prevent states from restricting the sale of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/3-recent-failures-of-green-energy-policies\/\" title=\"3 Recent Failures of Green Energy Policies\">gas-powered cars<\/a> as part of climate change \u200cefforts.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the bill not specifically mentioning California, it \u2063aimed to counter the state&#8217;s request to ban the \u2062sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035, \u2063a request supported by 17 other states with similar vehicle standards, \u2062according \u2063to \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/energy-environment\/4204977-house-passes-bill-targeting-californias-ev-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The\u2063 Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden \u2063administration opposed the bill, claiming it would hinder California&#8217;s ability to address air pollution challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the bill \u2064still passed, but it raises questions about the Democratic Party when only\u2064 eight of its members in the House supported it.<\/p>\n<p>Republican \u200cRep.
