Jamie Raskin\u200b (D., Md.) struggled \u200cto answer the same question.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s President Biden&#8217;s choice and I think she&#8217;s an\u2062 <strong>excellent<\/strong> running mate for President Biden,&#8221; Raskin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/politics\/2023\/09\/14\/the-lead-rep-jamie-raskin.cnn\">told<\/a> \u200d CNN&#8217;s Jake Tapper before an awkward throat clearing. &#8220;I don&#8217;t know what more needs\u200b to be\u2064 said\u2063 about that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When Jake Tapper later pressed\u200d him to give \u200da yes or no on whether\u2063 she&#8217;s \u200dthe best choice, Raskin said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know what else I\u200c can say other than she is an <strong>excellent<\/strong> running mate and an <strong>excellent<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-defector-emails-pipeline-to-obama-admin-seen-as-currency\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Defector Emails: 'Pipeline' to Obama Admin Seen as 'Currency'\">vice president<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tapper noted \u2062that Raskin could\u200d say &#8220;yes.&#8221; \u200dBut he never did throughout the segment, continuing to\u2063 say she&#8217;s an &#8220;excellent choice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Raskin later <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jamie_raskin\/status\/1702456213554811178\">took<\/a> to Twitter to clean up his position.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Vice President Harris is a historic and effective VP, and\u200c clearly the best match and running mate for President Biden,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The answer comes a day \u200cafter Pelosi <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/watch-nancy-pelosi-wont-say-kamala-harris-is-best-running-mate-for-joe-biden\/\">dodged<\/a> the same \u200ctopic.<\/p>\n<p>When \u2062asked \u200cduring a Wednesday appearance on CNN whether Harris is the best choice\u2063 for veep, Pelosi \u2064said Biden &#8220;thinks so and that&#8217;s \u200cwhat\u2063 matters.&#8221; When asked again, \u2062she said, &#8220;She&#8217;s\u200c the vice president of the United States.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi added that the \u200dnature of \u2064the job is that \u2063&#8221;you don&#8217;t do that much.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi, who announced earlier this week that she is seeking reelection next year \u2064when she will be 84 years\u200c old, further hyped Harris up\u2062 as &#8220;politically astute&#8221; and avoided criticizing her.<\/p>\n<p><em>Politico<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/report-democrats-are-too-afraid-to-criticize-kamala-harris\/\">reported<\/a> this year that Democratic officials won&#8217;t criticize Harris \u2063out of fear of being called racist or sexist.<\/p>\n<p>Some writers have begun <a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2023\/09\/the-case-for-biden-to-drop-kamala-harris.html\">calling<\/a> for\u2063 Biden to drop Harris on\u2063 the ticket.
